I recently bought a 2009 cf Moto fashion. It has 1700 miles on it. It has been sitting for about a year. I emptied the gas tank ,changed the fuel filter and when taking the pipe from carburetor to air cleaner I noticed a group of wires that run to the rear of the scooter has burned. It looks like it touched the muffler. If I knew how I would post a picture. One wire is red , one is yellow and there is a large black and a small black wire that doesn't unplug like the red and yellow. wire. The scooter starts on starter fluid but won't stay running. I removed the screw on the front of the float bowl, but no fuel came out

I tried to upload pictures but after showing 100% upload it goes to blank screen. I will try at library since it isn't working on My phone. Thanks for the links and information. I have 3 Honda 250 scooters, 2 Elites and 1 Reflex. Not My first Chinese scooter, but its My first Chinese 250.

You should not have a problem then the scoots are pretty sameo sameo just some parts are a little different. But the wiring on the 250s are pretty sameo just follow the burnt wires to where they go on each end and if you still do not know what is what just let us know where they come from and where they go. Now on the muffler side you usually have the stator and pickup coil wires also on the frame usually the R/R and the CDI. They usually do not put the wiring on the CVT side of the scoots you will find most wiring is tied up on the right side. Alleyoop

Looks like you need to get your multimeter out and use the diagram above in relpy #2 and sort it out one wire at a time. A test light can also be useful but will not replace the need for a real meter. We also have more in our library for reference.
If the wires are not completely burned in two, take them one at a time going forward and backwards to where they are still good. As long as the copper is not gone just replace each, one at a time. If they are gone then tracing is the only way.

Looks like they run to the usb/radio.... Any thoughts on what they used to run to? I got some good pictures if I could just figure out how to post them I see the Photobucket link and the directions
