I have the qmj engine first off. I installed a tach, blue cdi and changed out the variator to a koso with 9g rollers. I didn't really gain or loose anything.I'm only able to get 3800rpms or so from it. The seller claims it has no rev limiter. I have a 60mm high compression BBK with all the head tricks and cams along with a beautiful dmc exhaust waiting to go on. Another question is carburetor. Should I go with a cvk or a pwk flat. Any help would be great.
I'm only a newb to the scooter community.
Thanks Ice

You have the tach set to the wrong mode. It is most likely turning twice that....or 7600....and..... I'll bet it is reading between 750 and 1000 rpm's when idling.

The kit came from gy6 racing in Puerto Rico along with the exhaust that looks exactly lIke a two brothers. I have the cheap ebay tach on it. I was thinking the tach was set wrong so I double checked and it's set on 1. The clutch is engaging above 1000. Isn't that correct?

Change the setting on the tach the clutch should be engaging over 2000 rpms. So your tach is set wrong like RKS said. your rpms like he said should be well over 7K with 9 gram weights in there. The 150s like 11-13 gram weights I have the 157QMJ motor and it came with 10 gram rollers and the rpms used to run over 8K I run with 12 gram Dr. Pulley Sliders with a KOSO Performance Variator. According to the tach I'm engaging between 1200 and 1500. I thought I tried the multispark setting but I'll try again. I ordered a new set of 12g rollers but when I put the stock ones back in the scooter seemed like it was studdering. I'll play with it more before I start any engine mods. I have a mikuni 28 cvk someone gave me but it was missing the pilot jet. Anyone have a idea or recommend a carb. Thanks Ice

Ok think I'm set correctly now it's grabbing around 2k and I'm above 6k. Should I get one of those 30mm carbs with accelerator pump? I'm not familiar with the 28mm mikuni cvk that came with spare 150 i have. There are 3 jets in it and it's missing the pilot jet. I don't know jet sizes to go with to start. Not much info.

30mm pumper on a 150 Stock internal Scoot? No. you will be Over-Carb'd as mentioned before.

Long case. Forgot belt size but original. Scoot soon to be 163cc with some other add ons so not going to be stock with a 30mm carb.

The stock carb can easily jetted to work on a 180 to 200cc engine. A too big of a carb is much harder to make work at all of the rpm ranges of an engine. At wide open throttle it will have close to zero vacuum!
