I'm trying to get to the brake disc to clean all of this area up before I can re-assemble this scoot. I have watched many videos on rear wheel removal but none of the scooters rear wheels seem to be configured as mine is . In those vids, this bracket pretty easily comes away from the shaft by hand and/or with a gear puller. I do expect it to be harder on mine considering the condition that I have found everything else in. I've started with my gear puller but, am getting enough resistance to make me doubt that I should keep applying anymore force for fear that there may be something more that I need to do first, other than just removing all of the bolts retaining the bracket. Can anyone offer some insight on this ?

Yes it is just rusted on there also the bolts on the right are out correct? All bolts are off. Then maybe spray some WD-40 in there also you could give each side a little wack around it to maybe break the hold and use the puller. NOTHING ELSE is holding it on the shaft. Alleyoop

Yes, Alleyoop, all bolts are off of the bracket, shock removed, caliper tied away. Just the bracket on there now. That's what I needed to know, that it's just rusted in, like everything else here Thank you !

Yes yours is rusted on there a few wacks around the swingarm may break the hold and it will eventually pull out with the puller. Even some that are new get stuck on there due to heat build up and dirt and are very hard to get off. Alleyoop

Thank you. Good to know. My puller is quite old and bent a little from use too. I'll probably have to take O'reillys up on their tool loan service. Getting a bit chilly and frustrating. Will try again in the sun tomorrow

When you do finally get it off also try and get the wheel off WHICH MAY BE A PITA AS WELL so that you can re-gresse things up a little. Alleyoop

Ha! Yes, I need to clean and paint it as I did the front one too. Moly lithium grease is ok? Too thin?

Thank you very much, cyborg! But uh, yeeeeah, About that job .... such a flattering offer but uh, ummm, when this thang is finally back together, I think I'd rather toot on my own arm than work on another for a looooong while, LMBO ! Nah, I'm enjoying it quite a bit, mostly. But I'm really starting to hurt, working on the ground every day for this long.It would be nice to get out somewhere, nice and cleaned up too, without hiding my rust and oil stained hands I got my seat this evening from scrappy's too! All the mounts and hinges line up correctly . This seat seems so MASSIVE! LOL, using a quarter for scale cracked my own self up!

The folks at O'reillys hooked me up with the 5 ton puller. Thank goodness, I didn't have to pay for the broken one. This thing is crazy stuck, and a beast. A BEAST, I tell ya ! This is a few inches of this scooter that I'd rather not have to be this familiar with, for sure! I'm still hunting around for any tricks before I risk applying any more force to this puller.

LOL! "Hubbys Mummy"... You know, what that was, was plywood frame with a pillow and blanket wrapped around it ! It was the first thing to get thrown out .

You have to soak that arm and bearing with penetrating oil over night and the 5 ton will get it off
