Ok so I have a gta 50 I just brought and it sounded like a simple carb clean was all it needed as it was bogging down on takeoff so when I got it home I cleand it out but same ptoblem. I than switched the carb over to the one that was in my old moped which went fine but no luck . I than gave the carb a major clean and checked the reed valves but still had the same problem. I am farmiliar with what happens when you mess with the air filter on these things so I made sure there were no holes or places air could get in except the inlet hole. The odd thing is though after it sits for a while it goes fine and takes off really fast but only for about 30 seconds I have a feeling it may be running to rich on oil as it puffs out a lot of smoke but I don't think that that would cause the problem help!!!!

Cleaned fuel tank, replaced carborator, fuel filter, muffler, removed air filters, and finally removed entire rubber air filter assembely from carborator and it stopped bogging down completely. If I put the intake back on the carb it will bog.. WHAT IS GOING ON?

You have changed the mix ratio. It is running too rich. taking it off you are letting more air into the mix. It should be the opposite and take off the cleaner and should run a little crappy then.

Just sharing some info as ive recently bought a scooter and it was bogging out when bought.... 1, I changed the spark plug 2, Changed air filter 3, Put new fuel lines and fuel filter on with fresh fuel also did oil change After all them ive adjusted the carb using the mixture screw , tried every position going still no joy , The carb does look brand new , so i took the top of the carb off too find the needle/pin i put a tiny washer/spacer on the needle, rebuilt the carb, now the scooter doesn't bog any more , but now it doesn't bog it seems like there isnt full power coming from the scooter so next is too change the jet for me too see if that makes any difference... Ive searched online too find out this upto its been trial and error but maybe it could be some use too someone Scooter ive been working on a peugeot v clic 50

What kind of top speed are you getting with it?,,,if it's in the 40mph range you may have hit "top end" after all it is a 50,,,it may be time for a little variator work to see if you can get a few more mph

when you say changed the air filter. Was it an exact replacement or maybe something that look similar? I bet the new filter is too restrictive.

2 strokes are kind of fussy about fuel/air. If it runs fine for even a short period of time that means to me that you have all it takes to run good but some thing is changing when it warms up. Its pretty much up to you to sort it out. Manifolds crack all the time to. Pollution garbage can fail. The big question is "what is changing"
