I starter problems because it was making a loud squealing noise Took the starter off and it ran perfectly check my CVT transmission everything was fine with the noise from belt. I think it has to be the starter clutch squeaking when I turn the starter on. anybody help me with this or know much about putting a starter clutch in my Baccio scooter ,, when I hold starter while it's cranking I can feel the vibrations very loudly. when the starter .is off scooter , it runs. great. pretty sure it is clutch.. any help appreciated

Hi Jeff, Is this a 50cc scooter or 150cc scooter? Are you talking about the ELECTRIC STARTER? Or the Actual STARTER CLUTCH? If the STARTER CLUTCH and ITS a 50cc is the Starter Clutch your talking about behind the VARIATOR?

alleyoop how are u? my starter is making a real loud noise when cranking..took it off scooter and it ran great. it had no load on, so not sure it is good. battery is 12.7 volts, I think the starter clutch is binding, and this makes starter slow I thought I needed a new battery, but it test ok. starter seems ok. so thinking it had to be starter clutch making all that noise.. and I have to get jumped sometimes cause starter won't crank motor ... ?help

A battery may test good just sitting there but when a load is put on it the battery may drop like a rock. If you jumped it and the starter worked good then I would say you battery has a bad cell. Look at this picture I do no have a picture of your scooter's CVT so I do not know if it may look like this one. This 50cc scooter has a STARTER CLUTCH In the CVT BEHIND the VARIATOR notice the arrow pointing to the STARTER CLUTCH. WHICH STARTER ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT PIC #1 or PIC #21? PIC#1 STARTER: PIC#2 STARTER CLUTCH:

I'm a bit late on this thread, but my nephew had a similar issue. Turns out his variator drive face (the one with teeth, belt sits between it and the variator) was missing the internal teeth. This allowed it to turn freely, only pressure against the belt turned the crank, and it squeaked loudly during starting. It also caused repeated failure of the starter Bendix. Replaced it two weeks ago, no more squeaking.
