Tearing down the carb to remove the plug on the a/f screw. Looking at the intake tube from the filter to the carb seems moist. Oily gas smelling. I don't think the bike is running rich since if I take the filter off the bike will not run...
The bike dies if I do multiple throttle application, seems to flood and boog down unti it shuts off. So I thought removing the filter would give it more air.
I'm going to remove the plug replace everything and start over. Maybe it's just a a/f ratio thing.
Any inputs?

When you pull the plug that will tell us where the burn rate is and we can make recommendations from there

Once you take the Plug off and able to get at the mixture screw you can turn it clockwise and count the number of turns it takes to bottom out.
If it takes less than 2 turns to bottom out then turn it counter clockwise 2 1/2 turns and give that a shot. If it takes 3 or more turns to bottom out then it is running to rich THEN turn it out about 2 turns from the closed position since you are in a warmer climate it needs less fuel.
You need to get the motor to stay running so you can adjust the ratio so once you get the mixture at least to the point where the motor stays running then you can fine tune the mixture. Alleyoop

Well....i removed the plug... There seems to be another plug after that. Maybe it's just a bronze disk after the aluminium plug? Should i keep digging?

The little piece that broke off the casting is fine. That is the screw they usually take the slot off them as well but that is the screw. Try to get something so you can turn it COUNTER CLOCKWISE and take it out and put a slot on the head so you can use a screwdriver on it. If you mess it up the carbs are cheap so not a problem: Alleyoop www.amazon.com/50cc-18mm-Carburetor-49cc-Scooter/dp/B004J5CJVA

I think maybe you drilled it to deep and also drilled through top of the screw head underneath. I should have mentioned only to drill the cap no more than 1/8 deep and to do that you put a piece of tape or mark on the drill bit 1/8 from the end and drill up to it. www.amazon.com/50cc-18mm-Carburetor-49cc-Scooter/dp/B004J5CJVA

If you look at the last pic i sent that's what I did. The plug came out the screw face had been ground off.... Going to try but since it has no head vibration probably would back it off since it does not have a spring against the washer and oring... The new can comes with the new enrichner also that could have been my problem
Thanks for the help
