The connectors are such that, they could plug together. And yes, the black ones DO have voltage.I spent the last 40 mins trying to hunt them back and I don't see even one black solid wire exiting the harness, unless it could go to any of the wrapped wires heading out of sight under the body panels, to the engine area. It wouldn't switch colors in the sheath around the harness would it? In that case, maybe I'll be lucky and not have to find out where it comes from to move on.

Also, I have no recollection of having disconnected any wire such as these.

Ok, so the green and black DO NOT PLUG IN since the black is a 12volt POWER WIRE that used to power something???
Once you get the switchs in and ready then we can start the motor and find out works and what does not work. Now SINCE that BLACK wire has power something like the HORN, FUEL GAUGE, AMP METER if it has one would be powered by the battery with the KEY ON.
So FOR NOW WE CAN MOVE ON. Alleyoop

Okie doke! I'll leave the body panels that are off, off for access , push it outside to the front porch and update here after trying to fire, er, uh ... "LITE her up" .It should be done within an hour of this post. Yes, it does seem that those wires may be accessory wires. I'm guessing that there used to be something or, are there in case you would like to mount something into the glove compartment which, would be oriented there, with the body panels in place. So far, the gauges, and all seem to be working with the possible exception of the lights in one position (Dont stay on unless I hold the switch in place) but, I cleaned that switch and haven't tried it since, and depending on whether the motor must be running or not, for them to work . proof's in the puddin !

Very cool, appears that everything is working. Now like on my Trike there is a switch that you hit and it springs back sort of like a passing light on your car you pull the stick back and flash the lights. As long as the headlights work what the hey. Alleyoop

FANTASTIC!! IT LITES UP and you can shut it down WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Your in business now you will be tearing up the streets pretty soom . Took some cranking to get the carb bowl full of fuel. If it is idling to high and the REAR WHEEL spinning to fast lower the idle by using the IDLE SPEED SCREW. That is the screw on the THROTTLE CABLE side with the SPRING under it. Turning it COUNTER CLOCKWISE lowers the idle and CLOCKWISE raises the idle. LET ME ask does the scoot have a TACHOMETER? If so After 5 minutes of idleing the rpms should be around 1500-1800. Alleyoop

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Yes, it sure did , I tried a few times BEFORE these vids and figured it was quite dry. Yes, there's a tach. I'll start her back up and check ! BOY, it feels GREAT to be able to SAY THAT!!! Minor things, the hazards work intermittently so, I'll have to look at those connections, Gas gauge reads full though the tank is not and I do know that you have a tutorial post on that, and one bulb only lights during passing mode.

It's that it acts like there is no battery in it. :/

YOu said the battery registers 13 volts have you checked the fuse to make sure the voltage is going through it? The other place you can test is the RED WIRE at the IGNITION it must have 12 volts there. If so then turn KEY ON and check the BLACK WIRE for 12volts.

Good , now just trace it back to the fuse and battery and find where it is unplugged.
