Looks like the TWO bumps on this part have to make contact with both wires.

After what you did with the scoot that switch does not have a prayer it will turn out brand new

Ok so, she's cleaned up and back on the bike. When I ground the green/white wire to the frame, it does activate the solenoid but using the switch alone will not activate it. I checked the red/yellow wire for continuity to the harness by the solenoid and continuity is good.So, the switch is culprit and it didn't fix? Here is a cross section pic of the switch, for the curious.

I wonder if I need to bend those tangs forward in the switch?

Give it a shot nothing to loose but what I would do is put something behind them because they will bend back and not make contact. But great try since you cannot get a switch right away nothing to loose and you know how to activate it without it for continuing on with starting the motor and getting that all setup while you wait on a switch HECK you can use a toggle switch for that matter ON and OFF. Me thinks, me does have a toggle somewhere in me tool box. I'll check in 5 minutes! I'm scarfing down 2 frozen Posada Chimi's ,(Noooooo, they're not STILL frozen) lol!

HAHAHAHA, eat hardy, yea all is needed is to make contact with both wires is all and a toggle switch heck even a light switch will work

This may seem silly but, how the heck does one release the wires from the connector without mangling it? I've put a precision screwdriver in from every angle with quite some forceand am afraid to ruin it.
