While that was a good read Alley, none of the tires in the article are available in scooter size. All are for motorcycles. I did look closely at the tires available from Motorcycle Superstore in my size. Does this one seem to be the best choice for my needs? www.motorcycle-superstore.com/5900/i/pirelli-sl-26-performance-front-rear-scooter-tireIt is a few dollars more. I want my body to stay off the road. I have high heat and wet conditions.

From the specs and description yes that is a tire you would be looking for. The description says it has good grip in wet weather which is what you need and want. As far as the heat remember as the tires heat up they get GRIPPER. Alleyoop

I have SL26 tires on my riva. I used diablo's on the majesty I just got rid of. I used diablo's on my old suz bandit. When first changing over from cheap rock hard tires the difference is dramatic, softer ride, a more sure footed feeling.

Thanks everyone for your help!
Alley I have ordered the Pirelli sl 26 from Motorcycle Superstore.
Switching gears to the mounting. I have found two local scooter stores that will mount it when it gets here. My question is is it worth balancing a scooter tire during the installation? I have a 250 cc and can see myself riding at 65 mph often. One shop charges $25 with no balancing while another charges $45 with a spin balance.

Have it spin balanced it will roll really smooth, it is worth the extra bucks. Alleyoop

Use locking pliers they work great on strip bolt heads and screw heads. Alleyoop

It looks like that's what the last person did and the bolt head is already pretty round.

Some folks just do not know how to use pliers. There is no way used properly locking pliers would slip unless he did not tighten them up right. ROOKIES Alleyoop

Why not have teeth on both stationary and movable sides of the pliers? Also must have them set up to where you are pulling the stationary side and not pushing it.
Also, you might just try some SAE sockets to see if one will fit tight enough to do the job.

I have seen where a mini pipe wrench could get in and grab a bolt too. I have a 5 or 6" one that gets into some tight places./
