First time scooter owner and have questions.. (Same scooter as my avatar and below) (on the scooter it says Baccio Retro and the title says 2014 TAOI 49cc) 0. Where can I find the manual that comes with this scooter. 1. Spark Plug # recommended for Florida? 2. Oil recommended and amount? 3. Gear Oil recommended and amount? 4. What modifications would be recommended to make it go faster? 5. What big bore kit is recommended? (EBAY PART # please!) 6. What exhaust is recommended as an upgrade? (EBAY PART #? or OTHER PLACE please) 7. What tools should be carried for roadside repairs, besides for flat tires? 8. Variator upgrade? (EBAY PART #? or OTHER PLACE please) 9. Airbox upgrade? (EBAY PART #? or OTHER PLACE please) 10. Gearbox upgrade? (EBAY PART #? or OTHER PLACE please) 11. Air filter replacement or should an upgrade be considered? (EBAY PART #? or OTHER PLACE) 12. Other upgrades? 13. if I needed to order parts online for the scooter, for what scooter would I look parts up for because nothing is showing up for mine? 14. lots of mentions about cutting a pink wire comming from the CDI that is located under the battery area but its not there when I checked. Where else would it be? near the engine or near above the front wheel area? 15.Also, are there recommended parts that come on it from the factory that should immediately be replaced with aftermarket parts? if so,please explain. also appears my gas guage is not working properly. I ran out of gas recently and had to walk it to a gas station. When out of gas, the guage says I have about 3/4 tank and after I filled it up, the guage went past the full line. And sometimes while its idling, it will die and struggle to remain idling. Hopefully after I change the oils, this will fix because I think it was sitting for about a month or two. It rides fine but wont go past 31-32mph and sometimes when I stop, it will struggle to idle and die. Not all the time but fairly often. And figured out how to change the needle setting so it moved it up one notch. I think it helped with the idling issue but not completely as it will still die while idling sometimes. Im guessing the carb might need to be cleaned so I have to figure out how to get it out of there but its not a major issue. Look forward to hearing from you

All of your questions have been answered here, read read read. We have a library here toward bottom of home page. Manuals are generic, just pick one closest to yours. Gas gage float some times sticks and hanger has to be re-bent. Your scooter has an engine number bottom of case near kickstand, that is the only number that will mean anything.

Shouting won't help here. Most if not all of your questions can be answered by searching this board. If you still have a question, as jct asked, you need to provide the motor number stamped on the engine near the kickstand. We can't help you without it. So let's start there, what is the motor number stamped by the kickstand? We are looking for the number like in this pic. Jim

If you are intending to be able to ride much faster than 32 you have the wrong scooter. You can mod it to a lot faster but it is considerly less expensive to start with a scooter that goes as fast as you want to be able to go. Mods can get really expensive and reliability goes way down. Even if you were able to double the horse power of a 3hp engine you still are a long ways from what comes with a 150cc scooter.
One other down fall of a 50cc scoot going fast is the law. About a month ago here we had a kid who was crying about getting caught going 42 on his 50cc. An officer can give a ticket for no motorcycle drivers license endorsement in a case like that. Same as driving a car with no license. Just saying................

Thanks for the replies. How about just the oil change type of oil and gear oil from the auto parts store? I am new to oils. Please be specific with names and numbers. Someone said synthetic is great for the gear oil so I wanted to find out a name and number for that as well as regular oil name and number. Also the spark plug recommended for better spark (name and number too). Thanks again for all the replies!

Pretty hard to find a bad oil in this day and age. I have been using 15w40 rotella. Just about every body has a favorite oil and it doesn"t make a hell of a lot of difference which oil only that you change it often. On a new scooter you change out the oil that comes in it before you even start it, then maybe 100 miles then 500 then some change every 1000. Remember these scooters do not have an oil filter, just a strainer to keep the big chunks in check. Outboard gear oil is what I used in my 150, it comes in a big tube with a thin nozzle that should fit up to the trans. Don't remember the plug number but its here in library. A lot recommend the iridium version. Unless You have ignition problems I doubt if it is worth the extra money.

Im having a hard time with low end torque. It literally has to be pushed like a skateboard to until it has alittle momentum.

You need to go over the transission. It has a set of 2 pulleys, one gets larger and the other gets smaller. The one on the engine is a variator that has weights inside that cause the size to get larger as the rpms go higher. That one is not starting off as a small pulley from what you are saying. Like you are starting out in second or high gear. My advice is to go in the library and read. I believe there used to be some videos there that show exactly how the transmission works as well as tutorials.
