got spark got fuel why no start? :( By repur71 (Read 626 times)

So after a 2 month long venture to get spark on my 4 stroke 150cc I was excited to see it start but to my surprise it didn't

so here's what I know about my problem. I'm getting spark when i check the plug its wet with fuel and the plug is clean. When i put my pinger over the plug hole i feel force(lol) but I cant tell if its sucking my finger in or blowing it out(probably nothing) Any suggestions?

Good suggestion. I've learned that when troubleshooting it's not always about finding out exactly what is the problem as it is finding out what isn't the problem.

by try another plug do you mean spark plug? the one  currently have is only 2 months old and it has hardly been used

almost everyone gets a bad plug out of the box once in a while. just because a part is new doesn't mean it's good.

check the carburetor around intake were it connects with clamp some slip out a little and make a big vacuum leak.

(just little more info) today I tried spraying starting fluid into it, it turned over like usual but still didn't start

again check carburetor and intake if that is ok check compression with a gauge not a finger.

so i decided to just get a new carburetor but i do have a question, this carb is brand new and when i was reconnecting all the tubes I noticed that the manifold vacuum covered ? is this normal? am I supposed to drill a hole through the plastic?

trade the port on the new carb with the one from your old carb (just the cover, keep the new diaphram), and i don't see any mention of checking/adjusting valves. they are often a reason for not starting.
