So I just bought a brand new scooter a Wolf V150cc and want to start putting some mods into it. I will do a big bore kit but not right this minute. So I want to do intake, exhaust, and maybe a cdi and a couple other bolt ons. Now a lot of places tell me there is no point I beg to differ. So if anyone can point me in the right direction for the best performance parts. Also I am in south Florida looking for the best performance shop for scooters. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks SYCN THIS IS WHERE I HAVE BEEN LOOKING TOO www.partsforscooters.com/Here is a pic so you can see

these are scooters, there is no such thing as a "bolt on mod". it all depends on what you're looking to do and how big your wallet is. any adjustments to the intake or exhaust will require adjustments to the carb.

What Trash said, plus the old adage "There's no replacement for displacement" applies. Absolutely the most bang for your buck is a BBK. The gains from intake and exhaust (plus doing the required carb jetting) are relatively minimal compared to increasing displacement.
One area you should look at is the weights in the variator. Gains, especially in acceleration are to be had pretty cheaply there. Search this board for info, there's a TON of it on here.
Performance parts are available all over the place. Ebay, Scrappydog, Enviromoto and NYC are good sources that I've used. NYC especially if you want some personal service and advice to go along with it.

My take on it is to get out and ride the scooter and see what you like and don't like about it. Break it in right first. If you want to get it out on the expressway I would look to trade it in on one that's a lot bigger before you get it all scratched up.
As been said there are many ways to spend as much as you paid for it and more, and its less expensive to get a scooter that will do the job stock.

Thanks for all the help, there is a great shop down here that specializes in GY6 motors and scooters. So what I have decided after the first month I will be doing a full 180 kit, 2.5 stroker, new carb, exhaust and everything that goes with it comes to around 1200 bucks with labor but I rode one with these mods it's a guarantee smile every time you get on it so that's my decision and will keep you guys update on this process the entire time. Parts for scooters website and they give some great advice but I have not order yet so if there is a place here that the forum supports I would def spend my money there. Someone says NYC parts that's my hometown so i can give them a call or someone on here can help me get a direct number. Thanks SYCN

The reason I would like to start modding my scooter goes and cruises 50-55 mph very easy I have been doing 40 45 while breaking it in. I would just like to keep up with traffic a little better. I think with the BBK OR the 180 kit it will really put a smile on my face. Any input about what I am thinking of doing in the next month would be great. Thanks SYCN

as the motor gets broken in it should get easier to keep with traffic. putting on a bbk now would mean starting the break in all over.

Could have a pretty nice new 250cc scooter for what yours cost plus 1200 bucks. And the 250 won't be stressed on the highway like a 150 would be even with 180cc in a gy6 motor would be. And all you would have to do is get on and ride!

With the 180 kit ,, then do taller final drive gears,,, that's where real mph increases are,,, with the 180it will be quicker but not that much faster,, once you have the grunt of the bigger mill then gears are where it's at for fast

And all you would have to do is get on and ride! jct842 is dead right. If you bought a 150cc, 8 hp scooter, so you could keep up with traffic, you made a big goof. Your money would be wiser spent on a larger, more capable, heavier machine. Not saying modifications are a bad thing, extra lights, a windshield, a couple of gauges, a usb power port, etc, etc., but if you think you can turn your scoot into a 'freeway flyer', you are wrong. Personalize it all you want, but it is, what it is....it's not a dirt bike, it's not a crotch rocket, it's not a cruiser......it's a scooter, and that's ok. Even though I have 3 motorcycles, I'm still quite fond of my 150cc Chinese made, plastic scooter..... took it out for a 31 mile ride last night after supper. It is amazing how well it runs with 10,200 miles clocked, it has never left me stranded, and shows no signs of wearing out. It has been a pleasure to own and ride........but I realize it's a scooter, and treat it as such.
