P200E Cracked Cylinder Head ! How I have no idea . The issue started to cause small problems that ended up with the cylinder head into 2 pieces . The engine started sounding off and as time progressed the idle went away .Finally on the way to a dr apt ( Tuesday June 28th) the head finished cracking and left me broke down half way to the doctors office. I thought the head wasn't torqued down . When I pulled the cylinder cooling shroud off I then saw what had happened. Geico's customer service saved the day and about an hour later the towing truck they sent picked me and the scoot up for the ride back home. After browsing for an hour or so trying to see what a new one would cost ( some sites $120++) I went with Scooter Mercato and paid $70 for a new replacement oem head. I also ordered a new gasket set for the engine aswell. One never knows when they might need them . Total with usps priority shipping was about $90-$100 to Boise from Georgia . The parts finally came in on Friday and things went as hoped with the installation. It ( the scoot) was quickly back on the road as I need it to be . The head that cracked was used when I bought it when I first assembled the engine a few years back. I got 2-3000 miles before it failed. That was acceptable with me. I'll post a few photos later tonight of what happened. willc.

I hope you torqued the new one 1/2 first time then 3/4 then full and in sequence. I seen head crack because torqued wrong and out of sequence.

This time I did things the right way concerning the cylinder head. The scoots carb has been a bit of a headache for me still. Friday I had to pull the idle and main jet stacks out , blow the carb out, then the jets then reassemble to get the scoot to run right. Next item on list to deal with is rebuilding the clutch assembly. Its making a racket when using it. The scoot has been having a slight slip while in 2nd and 3rd gears. The center spring pressure plate I am planning on using will have a bearing instead of the stock brass bushing. The bottom of the spring retention plate will still have the brass washer type thing. The bearing was purchased from SIP in Germany a couple of years back and I forgot I had it. Hopefully the clutch rebuild parts will be here by Wednesday. More later! willc.
