I was not able to get an impact so after many attempts, I have ultimately failed in trying to get the nut off and it is about as rounded as can be, trying with several methods including jaw locking pliers. Would you suggest heating it cherry red first and using the hammer and chisel method? Any other suggestions?

That's a tough one,,, I've used a sawsall to put a diagonal cut in the nut to relieve pressure then knocked it off with a hammer and chisel but you must be super careful to not cut the shaft

I picked up a nut splitter and it got the nut off. As soon as I pulled the clutch off, tgis piece of metal came falling out too. I think this is the big problem. Anyone know what it is? Putting back together now to test. Fingers crossed

Is there supposed to be a washer on the kick start mechanism because mine won't stay put. PS. I found where that piece broke from

I'd J.B. weld that piece back on if you can. I believe it is meant to stop the travel of the kick start gear. That's probably whats going on, it's just traveling past that spot and ramping over it, traveling further than it should till it goes wonky. I don't remember off hand, if there's a washer. You may have to look around at some vids and pics. Hopefully, the clutch wasn't damaged and it will work out.

scoot works again!
In the process I broke off several fins from the cooling fan that is on the outside of the variator pulley part so I need to replace that fan and also it is slow again on the high end speed, limited to about 30-32mph when before I was doing 36-38. Also, not starting with a snappy throttle anymore either. I have to almost use wide open throttle at the beginning to get it going. Something has changed! Im not sure if maybe I tightened the rear brake too much but it rolls freely so I don't think thats it. I haven't figured it out yet. Scooter shop says my valves are still not tunes properly and when I tried installing the new rockers that came with the big bore kit, I could not figure out how to get the old ones off. Suggestions? I think my air mixture screw is also not tuned properly since that was what I was working on before the scooter stopped working but I am not sure on that as I have not been able to mess with it yet. Thanks

Scooter shop helped me diagnose it for their flat rate of $50 per hour and all it was was the air mixture screw needed to be turned about 1/2 a turn. I was determined to get it working again so I did and luckly thats all it was! I also installed a performance air filter for $20 and now my top speed is about 39mph. But for some reason, I cannot feel the powerband like I use to and I think its possible that I can get it again and another 5-10 mph more with some proper tuning. Im wondering if I should get the yellow or red contra spring and heavier rollers to compensate so that my acceleration is better and not so much of the new dead spots that im noticing. Is it possible that air mixture is still not perfect and maybe thats why I am not achieving a powerband? Any other suggestions? Im loving this scooter compared to the motorized bicycles that I have been riding for years. Scooters are much more comfortable. Thanks

If I order the replacement brake switch without the wire, can the old wire easily be reused with the new switch?
