I have a Verucci 150,which has been running OK. It starts quickly and runs smoothly. But when I twist the throttle the engine bawgs down. The max speed is a measly 26mph. The spark plug indicates it is running a little rich, but is properly gapped and clean. The plug is firing with a nice blue spark. I am getting good fuel flow to the carburetor. The fuel is fresh. The wiring is tight no evidence of grounding out. What am I missing?

When was the last time the valves were adjusted?

They were adjusted about a week ago. I bought this about 2 weeks ago. It was non-running. I cleaned out the fuel system/carb, set the valves, checked/replaced questionable hoses, redid brakes, new battery, replaced rollers and belt, changed fluids, checked exhaust system. I have since put about 200 miles on it. I cranked it yesterday and headed down the street and the problem started? I have a good amount of motorcycle experience. This is my first Chinese scooter.
Thanks Randy

It still would not hurt to lift lift the valve cover and double check those valves.

Thanks guys, I figured it out. It was the carburetor. A tiny piece of something was lodged in the main jet. When I looked at the jet in the light the hole was not round. I ran a #55 drill bit through it, put it all back together and problem solved ☺️ Randy

When ever I hear about some thing in a jet I get wondering about the hoses and fuel filter. Both should be up for a change.
