Last time my 1952 8n ford ran was about 6 months ago. Decided it should be running again, I might want to drag some logs up out of the woods. After charging the 6 volt battery I did have to put in a set of points and condenser it fired right up on 3 cyl.. Forgot to put wire back on a plug I had used to check for spark.
Sea foam to the credit, all I remember last spring when I dug the road ditch deeper is I put a good half a can in the tank. I was planning on dumping it but since it still runs........... Guess I should go back to town and get some real gas and thin out the garbage thats in it now. About a 1/3 tank of old stuff/ I seriously doubt if a scooter could run on that stuff, low compression and I been starting it with ether for the last ten or fifteen years because the choke linkage falls apart if used.
If the car manufacturers put cars together like ford did their 8n, most of the UAW union boys would be in some other sort of business today! Hell look at cuba with all the 50-60 yo cars being daily driven!

Those old tractor sure are reliable. My last was an '52 Allis Chalmers C and I used "gas" made by a local farmer. I put on a 12V alternator and battery so starting wasn't an issue.

When the 6volt dies I have decided to stick a 12v car battery in and the hell with a alternator. It never leaves my property and would run non stop for several days on a charged battery. Then I won't have to mess with the belt on old generator to water pump. They say if you want to run kerosene just start it on gas and switch it over while running
When the choke linkage fell apart I took off the oil filled air cleaner and hung it on the wall in barn. I use a can of ether while sitting I the seat, squirting to start! If it gets dusty enough to damage the engine I will just shut it down for the day. It works for me and I ain't going to live long enough to wear it out! At my rate of use it should be good for at least 75 more years.

Mine had lights and an electric lifted snowplow, along with radio, so I needed the alternator. Otherwise the ignition was a magneto so I could also crank start it. Oh yah! I do use Sea Foam in my truck and snowblower frequently.
