ok guys and girls my fried has some issues with his scooter between 40-50mpg he seems to be skipping a little bit but only when its warm its fine when its cold but acts up when its warm he is thinking its the cdi box but cant seem to find any right information to get a new one ordered .... he did try to order one and it was the ac style one and popped and smoked and soon as he plugged it in ...could it be the dc style one ?

his head light turn signals horn etc all work with just the key turned to the on postion .....

anyone have pics or anything that can help verify which one he has

Get your friend on here, have him go into the library and read up on the differences in cdi's. His cdi is probably good. The library has generic diagrams and tutorials for various repairs. He may need to be adjusting the valves. The carb is another thing. "He" needs to give us more information because its pretty hard to work with second hand information. Get him registered here.
