Hi everyone.  I am working on a 125cc 2013 Lance Havana made in Taiwan.  It worked fine until recently.  Now it idles fine, but once I start riding, it stalls a couple minutes later.  Then it won't restart unless I walk the scooter a few feet.  Then it starts and then stalls again a minute later.  Sometimes, the starter turns over but does not start.  I drained the gas tank and replaced with high octane.  That did not help.  I changed the spark plug which did not help either.  Any ideas?  Here is the engine....

The picture of motor means little. What would mean something is the number low on crankcase next to the kickstand.

I would venture to guess you have never adjusted the valve clearances. Read about it in the library, there are instructions there. Also read the scooterdoc manual, there is much there you will need to know.

If you have not done a PDI it is not too late. These scooters have a lot of niggly little problems that are cured by the PDI. Loose connectors are some of them.

Problem solved. I installed a new battery and the scooter no longer stalls.

That was easy,,,good find,,,there's a piston right there

I have this engine and the CDI is DC. So maybe itcomes form the battery? Do one change and check results.
