This is a new scooter, with the plug out and rocker arms backed off (only to see if it helped) the motor turns over by hand but feel like a natural magnet electric motor. like turning the flywheel by hand to top dead center it was to travel. you put it on tdc and let go and it will spin clear to the f mark. it feels like its on a cam under pressure, move to a spot and it jumps forward turn back to spot and it will jumpf foward or backward. i may be wrong but i would think that it would (with plug out and rockers backed out and the belt removed from the clutch} that it would just be freewheeling to where ever you stop it.

With the plug out it should stop and stay where you set it

my thoughts exactly! I am thinking it may be a bent crankshaft. Thanks for confirming what I thought too as well.

That's a distinct possibility ,,, need to get it apart and get the crank on a trueing stand to see,,, if it is you have to really give the crankcase halves a long look to see if there are cracks or the bearing bosses have been deformed and aren't round anymore

I am building a work bench (another one, makes the third) for this scooter adventure! I get it together and I will tear it down and really give it a going over. I will report back at that time. Probably within a couple of weeks. Thanks for the help and hints. I wont leave ya hanging!!

You could as a last resort before opening up the engine to remove the flywheel and try turning it over by the variator. The stator does have a steel core and the flywheel magnets may be attracted to one that is near tdc.
