Hello all! So- I found an 07 cf moto v3 w/ 27k miles on it for $1000- says he put a lot of new stuff on it- carb,elec fuel pump more- is this a good buy? I need something I can depend on

I just picked up a 2005 with 2100 miles on it for $1300. I got a fair deal, not good, not bad. But it's like new. Haven't had any real trouble with it. Disabled that damn rear brake starter safety. But I'm happy with it. It's a Honda Helix clone, so I shop for Honda parts.

I've heard of cf's going long miles but for my money I'd look somewhere else,,,I'd say yes if it had under 10,000 but 27k is a lot to me,,,

My thoughts are if you want to buy a motorcycle get one, if you want a scooter get one of them. A small jap motorcycle will cost a lot more but will easily go much farther than a v3 less, cost to maintain, and has better performance. A brand new chinese 250cc bike runs 1300 and up.

I paid $1200 for a 2009 CF Moto Helix clone. That was four years ago and it had only 1900 miles on it. That's too much for a 10 year old China bike with 27k.
I also wouldn't depend on it either. Even in its best day it probably needed fiddling. The electric fuel pump is a modification and the new carb and other things should tell you something. A good used bike should be available for not much more than a grand too. I bought an 06 Honda Rebel last year for $1700.
