May be because of the cam has a higher lift,,,I would pull he valve cover just to double check everything,,,if you don't find anything I'd keep a very close eye on it,,hopefully a valve isn't sticking open but I doubt it

ticking might be new head gasket just barely nicked by piston. I had this prob when I used cheap head gasket once. I am not a fan of the "stamped" gasket.

there are quality gaskets that have metal ring in center but fiber everywhere else. I used this one to get rid of piston hitting stamped one. I also had alot of oil leaking out exhaust until I changed the gasket.

That would be a "Fire Ring" Ive had many install a OE gasket on Overbores and sad to say many didn't notice the Gasket Overhanging into the cylinder and run it. In OE Jap bikes max overbore from OE is .040 or 1mm, after market mfg's's, mfg .060 or 1.5mm and .080 or 2mm and one needs to purchase the correct gasket to fit the specific bore size.

I agree. It is best to double check gasket. My mistake was that it was my first Kit Install and everything that came with kit was suppose to fit and I assumed it would. I was wrong. I just don't want others to make same mistake.
