Belt tension, Torque spring weak? By seanstr (Read 455 times)

I noticed the belt tension was loose. I changed to 824. Helped, however, when I check the tension, making sure it was only moving down by 1inch or less. It did, but then when I did check the belt loosened up easily, meaning the belt in the rear pull moved with ease down into the pulley. Does this mean the Torque spring is leak?

I also, figured it that since the torque spring is bad, that's why I haven't been able to get to 8000 RPMs. As soon as I changed that I can tell I can now get to the max power band once I get the spring replaced I should be able to tube the CVT.

I have been hindered by the 2 problems. The auto choke, and the spring. Both bad, both not allowing me to tube the carb and the CVT properly

The tension spring is weak, replace with a 1k and 1 k springs for the clutch shoes, all is well.

I found out that my compression had changed. Used to be at 210 which is high. Now it's at 90. So I took off the valve cover and checked the valve clearance at Top Dead Center. Still set correctly .004. So I must have a piston ring issue? There's no smoke so I'm confused.

Try to check again with a different gauge.
Smart move only changing one thing at a time. A lot of folks dive in head first and when an issue arises that don't know where to look....

I was wrong the compression was 180 like it is supposed to be. I did intial test wrong.
