my scoot has a plastic tank that attaches by 2 bolts, one on each side. the plastic has begun leaking around the inbedded nuts. anyone had any similar issues and how was it fixed?
I was thinking about Kreem on both sides from the inside, just don't know if it holds to plastic.
any suggestions or experiences?

I have used Kreme on steel tanks and plastic tanks. It didn't last on the plastic. I assume it's because the plastic flexes and opens the Kreme at the crack. I haven't done such for at least 18 years so there may be better products out there now. Especially seeing that there are a lot more plastic tanks now.

Do you want a pic of the tank or the scooter?
I will have to pull the tank if that's what is needed.

If they cannot find you a tank, Harbor Freight sells a plastic welder. This device fuses the plastic back together. If you can get to the crack you can weld it together. Make sure the tank is free of any gas or fumes. No flame is produced, but it is better to be safe.

El camino,
JB Weld sells a gas tank repair kit with epoxy & fiberglass mat.
Never tried it but do like JB stuff.

greginisn, an excellent suggestion. I actually got this product and applied the mix to the areas as well as hooking up a vacuum cleaner to pull the mix into the cracks!
I haven't had a chance to fill it and check it out yet. But I will post the result.

So nerly a month has past since I applied the epoxy and used the vacuum cleaner to apply vacuum to the tank.

El Camino,
The vacuum is a brilliant idea. I would have been afraid the tank would crush while under vacuum. Good job!
