Hi Everybody,
I’m wondering what the consensus is on on motor assembly lube these days. In the good old days we used STP oil treatment cuz It stayed where you put it. Just wondering what to use for lubing a BBK during assembly. Or is motor oil good enough?
Thanks, Greg

It's been 6 years but I used STP on the crank shaft and the cam. The rest of the motor got 15W40 for the first couple hours. This was for all size and configurations.

greginisn Thanks for the feedback guys. I guess I'll use 4t motor oil since I already have some of that and will be starting the engine as soon as the work is completed . . . If everything goes right. Greg

Absolutely Barbaric Practices, Im shocked STP is still sold. These Horrific Barbaric Practices were put to Death more than 50 years ago.
