It seems that every ones is a bit different. Best I would say you could do is compare your speed to GPS speed calculate your difference then Divide your over all miles by your calculated difference.

It seems that every ones is a bit different. Best I would say you could do is compare your speed to GPS speed calculate your difference then Divide your over all miles by your calculated difference. That might work, I don't know. These speedos are an absolute joke on Chinese scooters. I have three different scooters with three wildly different speedos, two of them on identical bikes! I think the potential problem with your logical approach is that the speed differential may not be tied to the miles. If it was me, I'd compare miles on the GPS or known miles to a certain location, to miles on the speedo. I just use mine as a general guide for service, when it gets AROUND 600 miles it's time for an oil change. Here's a possible solution, pretty inexpensive too: DIGITAL SPEEDOMETER Rich

Korean speedometers are just as bad. First, the outside numbers are Km and the error's about 10%. The odometer is selectable but if the mph is off, it would follow that the mileage is off too.

yeah I checked the speedo with buddys other bikes and one of those speed checkers the city puts up on certain st.s think its to see how many people r speeding in that area I went by it at 25mph it said I was doing 20 so I know Odometer is off so I need to divide my mile or km by 5? but was really wandering what the odometer is measured in like it says 864 is that miles or kms?? I know that number has to be off since speedo is 5mph fast!

how u all hooking up ur gps? I've got a Tom Tom one, I think the cheapest they have. It came fully charged and I've NEVER had to worry about the battery. I've gone days with it not hooked up to the cig charger and it's never shut off.....very strange. Anyway, in answer to your question, since it seems to run on air, I've never worried about getting it a power source on the scooters. I just suction mount it to one of the instruments and off we go. When I get back I try to remember to put it in the car hooked up for a while. Rich
