My belt broke on my 50cc Valentine so I replaced it and now I have very very slow acceleration and less on the top end. It seems kind of dangerous being out on the road!anybody have any suggestions about why this would happen?I never had these issues before replacing the belt.

First off thank y'all for your time. I guess I'll need to check the belt/debre!!I did get the belt off of a nother 50cc that I own(belt is still in great condition). If it's not the belt and there's nothing caught up in there,is there anything else that it could be? Or are those the only two issues that could be causing this?

Don't forget to check the clutch for belt trash too.

K. Will do.FYI, my father seems to think it may have something to do with the springs!not sure about that but,he has already ordered new ones. Thanks again and I'll let you know what I find out.

If it was not doing this before belt change I doubt that it is the clutch springs because if they are broken the clutch would stay engaged longer. Belt seems the correct answer. Do one change and check results.
