I've had a variator go bad before. The Reason: So there is supposedly a direction the side wall of roller weights are supposed to face, if the side wall is put in facing the other way than they should, the copper will slowly slide out from the plastic on the roller causing the variator and walls to get DESTROYED! 'I had to run and push it and give it gas on takeoffs that day just to make it home lol, embarrassing ...' One thing I want you to answer, Are you driving in nothing but city traffic? Stop and go? This would cause your rollers to engage and disengage way to often 'gears', So your belt is always flexing.. Another thing is your clutch, I would try to see if the pulley part is bent anywhere.. Or see if it's engaging when it should. I would check out the rpm springs or whatever there called. The real simple deal is ventilation, If your cvt area is getting really hot this can easily cause belt bust, it could even be heat coming off your engine going into your port. The next time you get it up and running, Maybe drive for 5 minutes, Then while it's running feel around the cvt area, as well the breather hole. If it's beyond hot then this is always a possibility, I have had a lot of scooters that I have to take many breaks on or I will break down, One of them I still have and that's a geely fashion 2 stroke. Ive seen way better than this, But this is basically the idea, The clutch opening should cause the clutch to work like a fan pushing heat out if I recall correctly, Ive seen some with the same deal but the variator area has openings as well Bet I would personally look into a way to put a screen on the inside of this, less chance of tiny pebbles getting to the belt. Your sceneario is the reason why I slightly miss chain driven, xD like my geely has.

The variator looks to be working right. Bad rollers would not destroy a belt, at least I can't see how. If the faces on the variator are not chewed up, I doubt it's the variator. I suspect that clutch. That thing had been burnt so bad, I suspect it's not functioning properly, and probably burning the belt. When the variator closes, and the belt rides up, the clutch is supposed to open and the belt rides down to the center. If the belt is not allowed to go to the extremes, one face (variator) is spinning faster than the other (clutch) and burning the belt. That's my theory. You really ought to bite the bullet and replace the whole thing. This is what I bought, it gave me a new bike. www.ebay.com/itm/DRIVE-FACE-CLUTCH-PULLEY-BELT-KIT-HAMMERHEAD-GT-STD-250-250CC-GO-KART-BUGGY-/322252934994?hash=item4b07c58f52:g:76kAAOSwFV9X1Eac&vxp=mtr

It's worth it. The belt is cheap, mine started to unravel after a couple hundred miles, but it was still worth it.

As for will this fit your Reflex? I can't say for sure. Mine is a Helix clone. I don't know if the Helix and the Reflex are the same as for the engine and drive. I think they are. Does your engine have the vertical cylinder? There are two types, horizontal and vertical. I think the drive is the same for each of these engines, but maybe not between the two types. You might want to call a local shop and ask questions, like will the variator and clutch for a Helix work on a Reflex? Looking at your pics, they look the same.

So that clutch and variator won’t fit my Reflex. I ordered the proper OEM belt. Dealership wanted $150. I opted for an eBay one. Once it gets here. I’ll give that a try. I’ll set my GoPro up so I can see what’s happening when I drive as well. I believe Forza parts will fit my Reflex. So if the belt breaks again. Then I’ll do the whole CVT. Thanks.

I don't know that it won't fit. I think the 250cc setup would be the same, but I don't know. You can buy the clutch separately for about $50. Good luck and let us know what happens.

Ok. The belt I ordered from China came. It's a 945-22.5. The other one was a 920-22.5-30 I think. Here's a video. Wrong size or installed wrong? Thanks.
