I am having trouble patching a crack/leak in the bottom case of my engine. I'm not very advanced with the actual motors on these 50cc GY6 engines, so I dont know exactly how to best describe this issue.
In General, there is a black case that surrounds the bottom of the engine. When i take off that case, it exposes the bottom part of the engine.
This is where my leak is coming from. I've tried to fix it with JB Weld, but it always seems to find my little cracks from not being perfect.
Does anyone know what I should search for to replace this lower portion of the engine? Is it something I can easily order online? Or am I looking at having to replace the whole engine?
This engine has only 1k miles on it, so i'd love to keep it as it runs well, just leaks oil anytime I run it.
NOTE: the leak was caused from my little brother taking it full speed off of a speed bump near our home. Not sure if he cracked the engine block or what exactly.

do you mean you take off the cooling shroud and you can see the bottom of the engine? the engines are split horizontally, so we would need to see a picture of where it's leaking

Get ready to break bread...but not your wallet ; ))) Read the manuals + use a torque wrench till you get the feel of things. Red thread glue helps when used Sparingly.

sometimes leaks are tricky, the drip spot and the leak sometimes are different.
Did it bang the engine when he went over the speed bump? I think when it bottoms out it hits the engine pipe.

Dunno if this is allowed, but 49ccscoot has good pictures of a 50cc with the black cooling shroud installed, and pictures as it is removed. If you look at them, you may be able to determine where the leak is occurring. See the pics here: 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/350/big-bore-kit-installation Page down looking at the pictures, and you'll see what you would reveal by removing the black plastic cooling shroud. Do not run the engine without the shrouds for any length of time as they direct the cooling air from the flywheel blower across the parts of the engine that need cooling. Without the shrouds, the engine will get too hot and either ruin the rings/piston/cylinder or freeze up completely. tom
