I thought I'd post a few pictures of what I've been doing the last couple of days. I mounted the manifold riser from Buggy Parts NW and my carb still wouldn't fit because of the engine mount! I don't fault Mike at BPNW, I just think I have a real bastard mount. So I turned it to the front! I used a short piece of radiator hose to connect the carb to the chrome performance manifold. I got the idea from this page of the AGK site link that mapbike sent us. I'm still running a 115 jet but it's running like a scalded dog. I'll post an extensive overview of what I did on my customs thread when I get a chance. Yep, I'm not using the cooling shroud. I know I told somebody not to do that but I have no body plastic to impede heat dissipation and it's getting a lot cooler around here. I think I'll go to the chrome shrouds next spring. Rich

I really like your "FRANKENSCOOT" looks like you kinda got you a TUNNEL RAM intake with all that extra air volume, and now running down the road you have a slight RAM AIR set up too, just keep it up and before long you will be getting out the mig welder and building yourself a wheelie bar for the back........LOL now all you need is to put a small little NOS set up on it and BAM you'll darn near be air born.......! here's a link to a little kit for ya....... www.piratecycles1.com/nikitw5re.html

Here is how to do the NOS on a scooter. Yes! A real demonstration.

Rich,
VERY cool! You got a seat that fits the mood of the scoot, too! I think a lot of guys with stripped scoots will want to know about that seat! Now, a vintage-style large round gas tank would look slick mounted low, Cushman-Highlander-style, where the passenger seat area used to be! A modded aluminum mini beer keg could be cool...
I've wondered about those riser intake manifolds. Looks like it's working great on yours! Sure is looking like a serious hot-rod! When you want to add the chrome fan shroud, check eBay. I got one recently for $16 plus a few bucks shipping. Same seller sometimes lists them "buy it now" for $39 to $89... LOL! They CAN be had CHEEP!

Please do keep us informed with pix of the build, AND performance updates. Yours is getting so chopped that it's hard to tell how much the engine mods affect performance as opposed to the lightening of the scoot!
Like all the other posters, I LIKE IT!
Ride safe!

I have considered this manifold, did not know about the alum. one at Buggy Parts bbut I was unsure about it, I may try one of the higher intakes now just to see what increase if any are noticed from the extra air volume. 4 1/4" GY6 MANIFOLD

I just ordered one my friend, thanks for thinking of me. If that doesn't get me over the top of the engine mount I can use it and the riser both. I love to experiment! Rich

I solved my "not clearing the hump" problem with a FS carb. the old vac carb wea just to long. My FS carb gives great throttle response, and just barely fits in with the aluminum intake.
