Like cars the 4 strokes LOVE colder air and will produce more power at lower rpms. My Ice Bear PST150H is "HONKING" took a ride this morning and on a long flat stretch "SPEEDY" was "CRANKING" at 60mph my Rpms were around 6800. On this stretch of rode the cars are doing at least 55mph(speed limit is 45) and I was leaving the trafiic further and further behind Alleyoop

I had a discussion with a friend on whether two stroke or four stroke have more "power" he says two stroke does. I have seen the differences explained on a science site...but is he right? I know a two stroke is a simpler engine but I would logically believe that the extra mechanics in there would make a 4 stroke more efficient....

First of all I don't have a trike....
Two stroke motors have more power per cc than 4 strokes do.
If we were riding 150cc 2 strokes we would all have much bigger smiles on our faces.
Think older motorcyles, 70 and earlier vintage. They were mostly 2 strokes and a 500cc was considered a monster. Once they hit their powerband they went like stink. The power comes on and really pulls. 4 strokes do that as well, but the motor has to carry extra weight (crankcase filled with oil) so it is larger and heavier.
Hope this helps

Yes, the 2 strokes produce more power per cc, but at a much higher rpm, you have to wind them suckers out to get into the power band. The 4 strokes have more power at low rpms and do not need to run really high rpms to get into the powerband. Alleyoop
