wow i just came in the forum for a looksee (i used to own a 260) and i am glad i got rid of mine, you are having the same things go wrong i did. i really loved that scooter but the thing just didnt want to stay working longer than a week! i hope you get it right but dang!
on a good note i got a used honda 250 rebel and have had a great year riding the mess out of it,it is alot like a scooter as it is light and manoveriable , and gets great gas like a scooter,
i am sure there are many scooters that work just fine but the 260 is a bust imho .

wisconsin.freecycleshopper.com/motorcycles-and-parts/06-honda-rebel.htmlOK I'm back with the rebel in hand, whew what a LONG ride!and yep i traded a pellet stove for it!,and wow what a bike , it cranked on 1st try and rides like a dream , it has 2 times the acceleration as my scoot , the bigger tires soak up the bumps too ;D don't know about max speed as the speedo is broken, but the paint and chrome are perfect, also need a side view mirror, but i am vary happy with the trade,we drove from Kenosha WI, to tylertown ms in one day , we got in last night at 11:55, 851 miles but still with the gas and food and hotel stay it was only about $550.00 well worth a 2006 Honda rebel with 5500 miles pic,s soon

ok thank you for the reply ,i get it now. i still have not figured out what is wrong with the scoot yet though, getting really hard to find other things to check, today i took out all fuel and air lines and inspected them,no problem or even suspect there,i did order a new sparkplug cap ,as i noticedf it was not snapping on anymore ,i don't know if that would make me lose speed and vibrate but... if anyone has an idia please throw it out to me ! i also noticed my muffler when i had it off seems there is somthing moving longway,s in it like the hole guts,is that a suspect?

i just cant figure this one out, i have great power at low end and the engine sounds great at wot , it just vibrates and loses speed ,i checked the sliders and belt ,witch look great the belt is going all the way to top of plate as well, and if i go down the road at even a slight downhill grade i can get to almost 80mph (speedo) ,but the same upgrade and i can't get to 55mph (actual) has anyone els run into this?,and if so what was the fix? i cleaned the carb, did a valve adjust, intake was almost closed, exhaust was still good, plug looks great, new tires and rear wheel bearing , could bad gas do this ? please help

ok so the bearing was bad ,and the rattle was my muffler shield coming loos but.. it is still making the throtie sound at high thrittle and loosing power !could this be a sparkplug problem?, mabie a exost leak? i took off and inspected the vareatore ,and all is good there ,the plug looked good as well allthough the plug wire is not fitting real tight , but it has good power till i get to say 50mph or above, then it sounds loud and i have to let off gas till it kinda catches up with rpms . any idias would be much welcomed!
