Hi! Well, here it is-- the first time starting my scooter. I got my insurance, registration, and permit Thursday and I started it up and rode around the block twice! I know I can handle this scooter now, it's just a matter of getting used to it. In this first picture, the scooter has been started for the first time, and the gas tank is full: In the second picture, I was talking to my house mate, who had my camera. I haven't gone anywhere yet. Of course I look huge-- I always look huge! I even look huge in pictures when I'm skinny. Oh well, I'll live, I suppose. I then put on my safety gear and went around the block twice. I am very happy.

She is purring like a kitten at a steady 1200 rpm. Teachers think alike so I'm with ccprof on this one ...practise, practise practise, makes perfect. Good one Denise and don't worry about the size you look marvelous babe.
PS footnote, yellow and orange don't go so better get yourself a bikers jacket to complete the look lol.

I hate seeing pictures of myself. I have no trouble with mirrors, but the camera hates me. I do have a motorcycle jacket-- black in fact. I put it on and rode for about 10 miles and then was literally dripping sweat. My clothes were soaked! The jacket is going to have to wait for cold weather. By next spring I need to get a mesh jacket. Oh yeah! Give me the chance and I'll practice until the wheels fall off! I haven't been out of my house by myself in 15 years!

I think you take a great pic Denise but take some advice wear as much coverage as possible when riding, your body is exposed to the elements and I and anyone could agree anything to cover yourself from getting badly cut or scratch and even a broken bone. A good pair of jeans, your jacket and a good pair of shoes along with the most important a helmet is the safest thing you can do for yourself and anyone around you. Btw Congrads and happy riding!!

Well, I've got it all right here, but until the weather gets colder I have no choice--- the jacket is too hot. I can't get overheated like that because of health problems. I do have a mesh jacket planned before spring. I am well aware of how much road rash hurts...

Fashion? Not me! I have always worn whatever I feel like wearing, with little or no thought to fashion. I just bought some nice, heavy hiking boots with good ankle support. I had bought another pair of boots, only to discover that they don't size boots like they do shoes. I couldn't even get my feet in them! I've got a winter weight armored jacket, and a summer weight one will be here before I need it. I'll think about something for my legs soon.

For your legs get some SKI PANTS that is what I use, they are light but keep the cold and wind out and they don't cost an arm and a leg either. Heck I ride when its freezing out and the Ski pants is all you need if you already have something to keep you warm on top. Alleyoop
