Tomorrow is the day that I put my new part on I will put it on, and let my scoot run for about 20 mins to see if it's going to act up or what! Wish me the best of luck guys! I am sure hoping that this will put an end to my problems (electrical wise) and I'll be able to ride again! I haven't rode in 3 weeks

Thanks guys. Well my shipment will be in tomorrow! Saturday? Weird. Roketapartsonline.com is a little slow in processing and processed my order the next day rather than the day off. So the one day shipping will be one day later than expected. Luckily though it's coming through USPS so it will still get here on Saturday Still ok, I am having patience..... Trying! This sunday will be a whole month of no riding! I will be like a baby again LOL Thanks for all the help guys. Without it I'd still be looking at the wires, nor would I know what/where my voltage regulator was! Which was the problem!

Well scoot has been running OK now. No electrical problems at all! People say my lights are bright as heck now Only problem is that my scoot really isn't running up to code. It seems to bog down really bad at times... Mainly when I'm at a complete stop and hit the gas to go. It will bog for 2 or 3 seconds and then finally go at a slow pace, then eventually the engine will "catch up" and I'm flying! I believe there are possibly several causes to this: 1) The gas in my scoot is farely old. My scoot was out of commission for 3 weeks. It had a quarter tank of 2 week old gas in it before I put 2 gallons of new gas in it. So all in all I'm running on a mixture of 3 week old gas. Could be a problem? 2) My carburetor. My RPM is actually PERFECT. It idles nice and strong. It's just that I need to adjust my idle lower. When my scoot is on its big stand and warming up, my back tire is spinning like crazy! Causing EXCESSIVE vibration through out my scoot. I will be adjusting that soon. My air to gas mixture seems to be pretty good because of the high rev. I believe I need to clean my carb though! I believe this may be a problem to my bogging downness. Also, this bogging downness is getting very annoying. I have to hold the gas down while my scoot is stopping in order to prevent it from shutting off! (I let my scoot warm up for 15 mins now, before it was around 2-4). After bogging down to go, I will eventually have to stop, and when I hit my breaks my RPM/idle odometer shoots down like crazy! So down it will shut my scoot off! Like I said I have to hold the gas down to prevent the shutting off, and my scoot sounds horrible doing this! The bogging is loud and deep, kinda embarrassing. Thing is though is that about 3 months ago I had my scoot serviced for a "tune up" at a scoot shop. I do not believe the mechanic cleaned my carb or did anything! My scoot ran the exact same as before I put it in the shop. I bought this scoot from a good family friend who said he had it sitting around for 10 months. I went and got a tune up and I had the same problems. Would cleaning my carb and adjusting my idle and/or air to gas mixture help heal my bogging and harsh shutting down, and harsh starting? To actually get my scooter to start is no problem, the weather is cooling down at night lots and it only takes me 3 tries to get my scoot to come on! The only problem is keeping it on. It will randomly bog down (drop rpm) and shut off. To prevent this, I hit the gas (this is all just to warm it up). Once it's warm enough, it will hold its idle strong, but then my tire starts to spin like a maniac! I also am going to change my gear oil. I'm not sure if this was EVER done. I'm scared to see what is in store for me. Alright. So I guess my overall question is: After cleaning my carb, properly adjusting my idle and gas to air mixture, putting good clean fresh high quality gas, and changing my gear oil give me a performance boost? I'm not 100% concerned about a performance "boost." Rather would it eliminate my dreadful bogging down and potentially make it easier to start/warm up? Thanks for all of your help guys! Saving so much money doing stuff myself rather than taking it to a shop! This place is awesome!!

3 week gas is not old that is ok, even 6 month gas is ok that is not a problem. Oil change is good if you have some miles on the oil that is in there, I change my oil every 800 miles are so.
Now if you have to hold the throttle or keep twisting the throttle to keep it running until it warms up a little THEN I think your ENRICHER(CHOKE) is not working. You can check if its working. Take it out and get a pen and mark the Plunger Right by the Rubber Part. Now Cover the hole with your hand or thumb and start the engine, it should idle up, warm it up for a few mintues and then you can shut it off. Now check the ENRICHER(CHOKE) See if its nice and warm, then check if the Mark you put on the Plunger moved OUT about 3/16 of an inch . If it not move its working. If it did not move then it is not working and you need a new one(That will solve the COLD starting and you having to give it throttle to let it warm up).
Now the bogging it could be the Carb and Jets and Passages need cleaning so do that first. Then after that you can adjust your Air/Fuel Mixture BUT ONLY AFTER the ENGINE IS NICE AND HOT. The Back wheel SHOULD NOT BE SPINNING AT IDLE that means your idle is TO HIGH or your Clutch is engaged and not releasing. So do some of the adjustments and cleaning and see how it acts. Also make sure all your hoses are nice and tight and your carb is nice and tight connected to the intake and no air leaks by your Air/Filter.
Also last but not least if it dies after it gets hot at stop lights or when you stop Your Valves need to be adjusted. Alleyoop

Allyoop, Thanks all sounds good! Just changed my oil a few days ago actually so the oil isn't my problem Where is this Enricher? Is it on the carb or where? I would definitely like to be able to start it and just let it be so it can warm up. So I will do my cleaning and what not first this weekend. I have no time this week between school and work. Now the valve adjustments may be the problem. I doubt if they have ever been adjusted. I will look in the tech section on how to do that. Thanks!!! Will definitely try all of these things and see how it runs

Hi Chris, if you have a fuse box like this located next to the battery: then you will also have to check the connectors inside the box that the fuses plug into. They tend to push out of the bottom of the fuse block which results in an intermittent or open connection. Like having a blown fuse. The wires have to be pushed in from the bottom of the fuse block until they lock in place. Some people have found it necessary to replace this fuse block with a quality one in order to avoid opens and intermittent connections. Also, my scoot has a 15 amp in line fuse coming off the battery instead of a 20. Hi cruiser, I have the lance 250 with the same fuse box. I have a new issue with my scoot concerning the cooling system. ontrols something with the cooling fan. I took the fuse out and checked it, continuity was good. There is only a metal sleeve on one side of the the fuse holder. The other, where the current passes thru is not there. Also, I unscrewed the box and looked at the wires coming into the fuse box. There are only seven?? can someone tell me what's going on please? By the way, my fan works..... I don't get it, shouldn't it not be able to run?

Alright guys. It's check up time Well, cleaned my carb and I can feel the difference. My pick up is quite amazing now. Next, I still have problems with my idle speed! The A/F mixture is good (I think) because I'm idling at 2,000 rpms! I've tried adjusting my idle screw, and nothing is happening. I've turned and turned and turned and turned. I stopped turning because I was thinking I was taking something loose or I'm going to make my carb blow up (silly me). I'm not sure as to how much turning it needs so I stopped and thought I'd better get some advice before I mess something up. I would turn it slightly, and wait. Nothing at all. Turned some more, waited, nada. I was like ummm ok? Turned a little more, waited, nothing again. Turned MORE. Nothing. Zilch. Nada. Still was idling high and tire spinning like crazy. But today my scoot was idling at about 1900 - 2,000. The weather has had a sudden plumet and I hate it now Love the cold, but hate starting my scoot!! Took me ten cranks and playing with the throttle to get it to stay on and idle on its own!! Very ridiculous and embarrassing as people ask me if it's going to start or why does it keep shutting off....... So I'm going to do that Autochoke test that Alley told me to do. Quick question: Would this one work for my scoot? www.roketapartsonline.com/electric-choke-assembly-for-chinese-250cc-engines-p-10093.htmlI am going to order one, just want to make sure that it is the right one. Plus, adding to this, I have to turn my throttle a couple short times BEFORE I try to crank it to get gas moving. I have tried to crank it without doing this and my eyes blew out from rage LOL. And tonight, when I got off of work at 11 pm. With the temp as 40, it would try to idle low (with my help of course) and when it was about to shut off a couple of times, I would really give it some good throttle, and it would suddenly come on again. Like I just gave it gas. Probally just proves the fact that I need a new choke!! Now, update on the bogging and shutting off. Bogging is still there. From complete stop or hitting the breaks then going, it still bogs down pretty bad. After cleaning my carb I am concluding that my valves definitely need to be adjusted. Talked to the original owner, never had them done. Bought the scoot at 1600 miles and now have 2100. It's time for a good adjustment. With the carb clean though, after the bogging goes away, I take off like a rocket! Bogging isn't AS bad as before, but still pretty bad. Thanks for all of the help guys! I'm going to donate here soon! this place is just awesome! So guys, any input will like always be greatly appreciated Also, do I need special tools to do the valve adjustment myself? Seems like a pretty big job to do, and I'm not sure if I have the tools to set my valves at 0.004" ... Seems VERY tiny to me and I'm not sure if my RULER will read that ;D ;D ;D ;D

Okay. I've officially given up on this piece of junk. Today I put my carb back together and put it on the scoot again. I tried to get to my valves, I got to where I thought the cover was. When I loosened the four bolt caps all of my water drained out: Not fast, but quickly dripping. So I just put the caps back on and assumed that it wasn't the cover. Now I have absolutely no idea where the heck it is. Next, I tried to change my gear oil. Have no idea what to loosen to get it to drain. So I would unscrew one bolt and see if it drained. EACH and every single one did nothing at all. Do I have to take that silver cover thing off? Next, more problems. I've been noticing over the last few days that my scoot would make a big popping nose. An example: One morning I let it warm up, went outside and hopped on it. Backed it out to go, and I hit the throttle. The moment I did that the big pop noise happened and I could smell gas. I gave it a minute, did it again and it made the same noise. Just about every night so far when my scoot tries to drop rpms really low when I hit the breaks, I hit the throttle and then that loud pop noise happens. Not sure what the heck it is, but I know for sure it can't be too good. Next, now my scooter is starting to squeak. Only when I hit the throttle and start going, it will be there momentarily. After it gets cruising it will go away. Or when I'm letting it idle or pull into a parking spot slow does this squeak appear. NEXT, after putting my carb back on today, I tried to crank it. No go. It would try to crank but the engine will not crank on!!!!!!! Now my starting noises sound very weak. Let me explain: Usually when I try to start the scoot, I hit the button and then it would sound like (vricky vricky vricky vricky) eventually until it turned on. Now it's like (vriiiiiickkkyyyyyyy, vriiiicckkkkkkky, vriiiiicckkkkkyyyyy). Sounds as though it's dying My dad said to check the spark plug. Only thing is is that I have NO IDEA where the heck the spark plug is. The list of problems keeps adding and it's stressing me out too much and taking up wayyyy too much of my time. List of problems as of 11/7/2010: 1. Won't start now, has that weak sounding start. 2. Need a new enricher. 3. Need to adjust valves (tried to today and have no idea where the heck anything is) 4. Need to check spark plug (absolutely no clue to the where abouts of this) 5. Need to fix my squeaking problem. 6. Need a new back tire. Won't hold a complete fill. Only holds about 65% of air. 7. Need a new right side mirror. 8. Need a new bulb for right tail light. 9. Still having electrical problems. Yellow wires coming from regulator are getting very hot and are melting. Oh joy. 10. Need to see what's with my breaks. They don't seem to be "all the way there." 11. Need a new air filter. 12. Need to get rid of this piece of crap. Most of these problems probally came from it sitting around for 10 months and then me buying it as is. I give up. The problems are escalating quicker than I can fix them.

For the Valve adjustment, this from the tech section will show you on the linhai where the valves are to adjust them and how to do it: Horizontal Linhai:Maybe the battery is getting weak from the way you make it sound? Have you tried charging the battery?
