Well now they're saying they received the order and is going to find out why their guy never shipped it out. They said they would call right back. I will wait around. Now my part is going to be a day late and I paid for THE QUICKEST shipping. See what kind of refund I can get

You can use a small vise grip pliers to hold shaft while you tighten the nut.

I would order the tool shown in the how to for adjusting the valves...When I first did my valves I had the same problem, then I just ordered the tool... I went to a yamaha dealer...they didnt have it in stock but ordered it, which was fine for me...I think i paid around $7 for the tool...to me worth the investment Heres the tool I got and it has the part number for it too: s1020.photobucket.com/albums/af323/kdheads/?action=view¤t=valve-3.jpgwell a link to it anyway

Valves properly adjusted and scoot starts and sounds pretty awesome. Doesn't sound like crap, sounds very smoooothhhhhh. Now. Next problem lol. I am leaking oil like crazy. I know why though. A while back when tightening the bolt to the intake valve cover I snapped the bolt. Awesome. This was the same day I snapped the adjuster screw ;D Well, the engine starts right up on the first try no problem! It idles crazy high and leaks oil. Why? Well it is leaking from the spot that has no bolt in it. I tightened the other very well expecting it to be enough to hold it, but it wasn't LOL. Oil comes pouring out of there and runs down to my muffler and onto my catcher under the scooter and onto the ground. Scooter is awesome though. All the pressure that the engine has is too much for the one bolt. Which probably explains why it idles so freaking high. I'm talking about 4500 high! If I hit the throttle, to lets say 6000, it will stay there spewing oil like crazy Any helpful hints on getting that broken screw off? Could I make a slit in it and try using a flat head to get it out? How would I make a slit in that bolt though? Perhaps taking a hammer and hammering the flat head into the bolt? Thanks for all the help guys! I'm so happy that my scoot still runs from me doing all of this Just have to fix this minor problem and I'll be good to go ;D

If you broke off the head of the bolt by making it too tight, then there should be no oil spilling out as you describe. Another thing I can't see why the engine would idle so high with or without a valve cover on it. There is more to it then meets the eye. I don't understand how it can sound awesome idling at 4500 RPM's. You say there is no bolt in it, then ask how to remove it. Maybe I'm just not getting what you are saying.

The bolt head snapped off. The bottom half is still in the screw spot. What I meant by how it sounded awesome is that it's smooth. Before it was loud and sounded kind of crappy. But all I had to do was get the broken half of the bolt out. Replaced it and there is no oil leaking now. I had to adjust the idle screw. It was set way too high. Good news though! My scoot is up and running awesome! After putting the cap on correctly and adjusting everything just right it is running like a champ! Just got home from test driving it and also cruising ;D Doesn't bog at all and just goes! When I hit the breaks I don't have to worry about it it shutting off. Starts on the first try now from a cold start. Stays on when cold starting!!!! This scooter is so awesome now!! I took it to the original owner and he said it's running better than when he had it So thanks for ALLLLL of the help guys! You guys here rock!!!!!!!!! Now my next challenge is to paint it Install LED underneath it. Big bore kit it. Yup that's right LOL Just kidding. I love it the way it is now and it's staying this way!!! I can't believe that this scooter is running this good!!!!! It's amazinnggggg Thanks guys
