Pop1205, That is Fantastic!! You now know how to adjust your Valves, and TICKY TICKY TICKY from the valves is OK. It is when they CLATTER CLATTER CLATTER that is NOT ok(TO LOOSE). Myself I like to hear a little TICKY TICKY then I know that they are NOT Tight and NOT To Loose.
Now you have a running scoot that starts right up and now it is just Carb Adjustments. Alleyoop

Wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll.. Bad news... nothing new. LOL So, the first time I adjusted them, I had a clatter noise. Went and readjusted. Still had the same. Went back the third time! Adjusted them right, buttttttttt I was using needle nose pliers this time to hold the adjuster and an adjustable wrench to tighten the locknut, to make sure I don't over tight it. Well when I was tightening my locknut (just started to) the tip of the adjuster and the lcoknut snapped off!!!! I wasn't even trying to apply pressure! So I kept my cool and saw the vavle was still screwed on and took my feeler gauge out, and it was in tehre perfectly. Not too loose, not too tight. Was happy for that. So I was putting the cover for the top vavlce back on and then when just starting to tighten (again) the bolt, it snapped!!!!! How crappy of bolts do these chinese scooters have??? Well started the scooter up, came on the first try of course, buttttt still have a clattering noise!!!!! Now I can't get to my valve, nor adjust it!! Guys, whatever you do, don't come around me. The second you do my bad luck will smother you and your tires will explode and then your engine will start backfiring!!! I seem to be in a spell of bad luck. Thanks for all of the help guys! Seeing how I can't ride my scoot anymore, I'm throwing in the towel on this one. Riding it the way it is right now will most likely lead to worse problems in the future. Correct?

Pop1205, Man you must not know your own strength. You should just Snuge them you do not have to tighten them a lot to hold. But anyway here is where you can order the adjusters and lock nuts. The page shows the Adjuster then scroll down to order the Lock nuts. Alleyoop www.scooterworks.com/Screw_Adjusting_pair_-_GY6-P6391C477.aspx

Well to break the tip of the adjusting stud you must of been squeezing the heck out of it. I use my fingers to adjust and hold the adjusting stud and then a 9MM open end wrench to tighten the nut.
Hard to say if you can start the engine cause I don't know how that valve is adjusted or if it is completely loose. If the tip of the Stud broke off that is ok but is the lock nut holding it is the question. Only you would know if the nut is holding or not, if the nut is loose and will not tighten then NO you should not start the engine. Alleyoop

Alleyoop, Thanks. Well the the tip of the adjuster came off as well as the locknut. So I'm guessing to not run it until I get a new one installed??

Well, Dr. JR, it sounds like he has my engine but he has your electrics? A YY/B hybrid? I think hes confused and has the Lihani motor not the CN250! My 244cc CN 250 has the fuse box with 4 10 amp fuses and the 15a inline by the battery I have no other 20amp fuses hes shown but have seen them on the Lihani clone but never on a Honda clone? easiest way to tell Pop is to look at the CVT cover if u got 2 bolts it the Honda clone 244cc if theres like 8 bolts I think then u got the lihani heres what the CVT cover of the Honda 244cc clone engine looks like

Pop I'm not sure what size bolt you need on the valve cover but you can take one of the others out and take it to a hardware store. They can match it. Next someone here needs to explain how to remove the broken bolt then you can replace the adjusting nut assembly.
You need to relax and take your time with each fix. You are very close so don't give up now.

It was like that when I got it. Should I take the other one out and see if I can match it for a replacement? I have had zero problems with this scoot since I adjusted the valves.

Well if there is a little bit of the Screw sticking out you can get Vise Grips and unscrew it back out. It there is not enough to grab it with the Vise Grips then try making a slit so you can use a screwdriver to back it out. If none of that works then you are stuck in buying a backout drill bit. Although they are not bad to have around anyways. You may use it once a year but they are life savers. Alleyoop

Got the screw out with my hand. It was pretty easy to get out. Just twisted it out. Now just have to wait for pay day to get that adjustable screw. Yes, I am that broke right now. LOL Checked with every auto store and they didn't have a bolt or anything that had fine enough thread for it. They all referenced me to a local hardware store who had a wall of bolts, nuts, screws, etc. They didn't have a thread fine enough!!!! So I am forced to order it online. Shipping is $6.50 while the part is $0.75. That sucks! Thanks for all the help guys!
