I guess I don't understand your argument.
I have a Shen 250 and a Honda Silver Wing 600.
Yes, the original Honda parts are expensive. The point is that you don't need them very often.
But your problem is you have to go to a dealer for parts? What dealer can I go to for my Shen? Nobody and I mean NOBODY has parts locally for this thing. It's the internet or nothing. Luckily the internet has everything I need, and that's for both the Shen and the Silver Wing. So what's the problem?

I have a 2002 Honda Silver Wing and I love it. I use it to commute 50 miles each way when the weather permits. It's very economical and fun and comfortable on longer rides.
The farthest I have taken it is from Huntsville Alabama to Louisville Kentucky and back in one weekend. I went with three others and the additional storage I had was invaluable. It does great at interstate speeds and on curvy back roads.
My Swing has about 17,000 miles on it. It had 4K on it when I bought it in 2010. I have replaced the front tire once and the rear tire twice. I have had the variator belt replaced once at the recommended time.
I think it's just about the best combination of economical/flexible/useful you can get in a two-wheel vehicle.

Yes. The bolts I got at Home Depot worked perfectly.

Love the grips, I searched ebay and ordered some similar ones, but they were from a US shipper so hopefully they won't take as long as 2 weeks.
Great pics btw.

I can't tell you about a Burgie but I have a Honda Silver Wing 600 and it is absolutely brilliant.

They fit perfectly, I didn't have to force them at all. They tightened up great.
I added oil and drove it around town. No leaks, it runs perfectly.
Thank you for the measurements. they really made this a no-brainer.

I ran out to a Home Depot at lunchtime and got the closest thing they had, which was 8x1.25x70. It was the only 70mm bolts they had. I'm thinking a quarter of a mm is probably in the range of error here. They were only $1.25 each so the price was right to give them a try tonight when I get home.

You're a life saver. I'll go to the Ace Hardware in town first thing Tomorrow morning and get some 8x1x70s and give them a try. Unless the rapture occurs, then all bets are off.
Actually, if I can make it there before they close on my way home, I may work on it tonight. That way the rapture doesn't even come into play.

Duggle.. I will pull one of mine tonight and give it a quick measure. I forget the exact thread it had. We will get you fixed up thought. That is awesome of you, thanks Damin. I'll probably head to the Ace Hardware on Saturday and get this bolt business worked out, one way or another.

Ugh. The one bolt I have on the other side of the assembly isn't even close to being the same size as the ones I am missing, it's much larger in diameter. I'm back to square one, completely guessing.
I'll just measure the length and try to figure it out from there.

Indeed.
If I knew the correct size of bolts I was looking for I could get the exact right ones in the nicer grade.
Unfortunately, I am guessing, so I will probably get the cheapest bolt I can lay my hands on that fits correctly.

You have a good point. I can take that one for the thread size and try to measure as best I can and get multiple bolts, hopefully one will be the right size.
Thanks for the advice, you guys really are a great help. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I lost one of these bolts also out of my YY250T also. I took one of the bolts that was left down to the local Hardware store. Before I went I took a tape measure and figured out the length I needed. Now the only thing to remember is that length is in mm so if you measure inches just multiply what you get so if you measure 1 inch multiply by 25.4 to get your mm length. Then when you put them back in use lock tight. I believe the Thread was 8x1.25 but make sure you take the remaining bolt with you so that you get the correct metric thread bolt. My problem is I don't have a remaining bolt, as you can see both of them are missing.

I will, and I'll pull some bolts and add some too. I found this at scrappyscooters.com I think I need bolt 21 or 22. Does anyone have any details on them? EDIT: Sorry, that's completely the wrong side of the scooter. I need right side, that is a blowup of the left side. I'm hopeless at this.

Thank you thank you! I ordered the CVT Belt Cover Bolt Set....they come in sets of two so if anyone else needs just one please let me know.
I still need help for the bolt holding the muffler and what looks like the crank case on. I really don't trust myself to measure it with a tape measure and get one from the hardware store.
If anyone can give me exact measurements including thread size from a manual I would really really appreciate it.
When I wiggle the crank case to get the holes to line up oil drips out, so I really can't ride it in this condition.
