My Shen 250 (YY250T) is missing some bolts. If anyone knows where I can order replacements I'd really appreciate the information. Here's a picture of the two missing bolts: On the other side it looks like there should be something here: Thanks!

Are these bolts available anywhere? I have no idea what happened to them. I'm mostly worried about the two bolts in the first picture that hold the muffler assembly on.

I lost one of these bolts also out of my YY250T also. I took one of the bolts that was left down to the local Hardware store. Before I went I took a tape measure and figured out the length I needed. Now the only thing to remember is that length is in mm so if you measure inches just multiply what you get so if you measure 1 inch multiply by 25.4 to get your mm length. Then when you put them back in use lock tight. I believe the Thread was 8x1.25 but make sure you take the remaining bolt with you so that you get the correct metric thread bolt. The long one that holds the CVT cover on I will have to look back I remember finding someplace online that carries them I just do not remember who it was.

Dugglebogey, Scrappydog has the CVT bolts you are looking for. Very good place to get parts. I have ordered many times from them. Good prices and fast shipping. Opps forgot to mention the CVT bolts are about 2/3 they way down the page. www.scrappydogscooters.com/CF250_Water_cooled_parts.html

Thank you thank you! I ordered the CVT Belt Cover Bolt Set....they come in sets of two so if anyone else needs just one please let me know.
I still need help for the bolt holding the muffler and what looks like the crank case on. I really don't trust myself to measure it with a tape measure and get one from the hardware store.
If anyone can give me exact measurements including thread size from a manual I would really really appreciate it.
When I wiggle the crank case to get the holes to line up oil drips out, so I really can't ride it in this condition.

I will, and I'll pull some bolts and add some too. I found this at scrappyscooters.com I think I need bolt 21 or 22. Does anyone have any details on them? EDIT: Sorry, that's completely the wrong side of the scooter. I need right side, that is a blowup of the left side. I'm hopeless at this.

In your picture you only have that you are missing the 2 that are attached at the engine.

You have a good point. I can take that one for the thread size and try to measure as best I can and get multiple bolts, hopefully one will be the right size.
Thanks for the advice, you guys really are a great help. I'll let you know how it turns out.

With out re reading the entire thead I was wondering if anyone made a comment like I am about to do.
When buying new bolts for the scoot I would suggest going up a bit of grade and get aircraft or auto grade. Just buying the cheap old discount bolts might get you some greater griefs. Check on the head and there are patterns that describe the quality. Most hardware dealers can tell you about those marks and what they mean. You don't want stripped threads or twisted off bolts that can happen with low grade bolts. .

Indeed.
If I knew the correct size of bolts I was looking for I could get the exact right ones in the nicer grade.
Unfortunately, I am guessing, so I will probably get the cheapest bolt I can lay my hands on that fits correctly.

If your local hardware store is like mine the cheapest bolts I could find were around 2 bucks each but were considerable much better grade than the crap that comes with it.

I've learned that the ACE Hardware near my office is the best place to buy Metric bolts. Since you have one, you'll be able to tell the thread pattern. Measure an approximate dimension, then head on down to ACE and buy a small spread of bolts in about the right size.

Ugh. The one bolt I have on the other side of the assembly isn't even close to being the same size as the ones I am missing, it's much larger in diameter. I'm back to square one, completely guessing.
I'll just measure the length and try to figure it out from there.
