Is it common for sections of the body(a 50cc tank replica) to crack and chip easily? It seems every time I look around the body of my scooter is showing cracking and in some parts actually chip. I just bought the scoot about 4 weeks ago and I keep in in a garage and I'm a city driver so no dirt roads around here. I can fix the cracks with a little crazy glue but even that wont hold for very long. I can take picks to show if needed.

No, that is not normal. If I remember correctly you bought that from GS Motorworks. He's pretty good about warranty issues so I would take some detailed pictures and send them to him. I'd like to see some too if you can post them on the forum. RICH

I would say its not normal for a scoot that new, but...
Mine that is just hitting two years old and about 9000 miles has alot of cracked plastic, mostly just at tabs, but I have seen at least one major crack in a panel. It has been dropped a few times and I'm sure that has contributed, but I have found the ABS to get brittle with time. As I'm rebuilding my scoot, I'm trying to repair them.

Mine came with cracks around most holding screws and I have developed others over the summer. I think some are due to the plastic heating and expanding in the sun.
I have been in plastics for 30 years and the ABS they use is SH^t. It is about 90% styrene and 10% abs of some dubious mixture.
The best way to fix the problem I have found is to use rubber washers on both sides of the plastic panels where the join the frame. If you have cracks, put a few layers of fibreglass on the inside and give it a couple of good coats of resin. This strengthens them a lot.
