With everybody scattered around the country, I though it would be cool to start a thread about our favorite teams, likes, dislikes and maybe have a little friendly rivalry when two teams play.
I can tell you I am a diehard Steeler fan, and although they are doing well, I have some concerns about his years team.
The offensive line is banged up and the replacements are not protecting well enough and are getting waaaaay too many holding calls. Also, the offenses inability to score has me concerned. Our "D" has kept us in games and even won the last three for us. Troy Polamalu should be the league's MVP this season as he has personally turned the last three games in our favor. I was hoping the Ravens would lose last night to give us some breathing room but they won in OT. We play the J-E-T-S next week and they are coming off two straight losses and will be hungry. Ben is banged up big time and so is Troy, should be a good one.

I'm one of the proud few... a Lions fan. I inherited the heartache from my Dad, but then I grew up watching Barry Sanders. The things that man could do on the field....

But hey, this past week they broke the NFL's longest road losing streak! They hadn't won a game on the road in three years... not since before the perfect season (0-16).

There's something to be said for being a fan of the worst NFL team... no where to go but up!

frankly,, i know nothing about this game...we don't have it in the country where i was born and raise.. i keep on hearing the words GO cats!!, Go Lions? Go Cardinals! Go raiders, Go Bulls!..etc etc etc etc... the only thing i don't like about this game is that the audience is seated in a row seats inside an open stadium thingy and they are watching these players kick the ball, i don't really know how a team wins,should they kick the ball inside the basket? how? and the most chupidest thing is that the stadium is so big ,the players in the field looks very tiny when seen from the audience point of view.gosh.
another thing is the baseball,,i dunno how in jupiter's ball a team wins,i mean how does a team score if the ball was batted and went to the audience???does it mean that the one who bat it wins?? doesn't make sense to me.
basketball is the best ballgame ever,and it's the game i use to play. i know that if i shoot the ball inside the basket i get to score. it's as simple as that.

Luke - you MUST learn American football. How could ever aspire to be a true redneck if you don't follow the NFL and NASCAR racing? LOL!

How does a team win? Don't judge by the Steelers offense, that's for sure. Besides all their other problems, Mendenhall has been less than effective lately. My son has a shirt that says "Offense scores points, Defense wins championships". So go with Polamalu, Harrison, Timmons, Woodley and the gang. GO STILLERS!

On that note - GO PENS!

That was a heartbreaker losing to the Jets. Wasted TOO many opportunities and not having Troy in there definately changed the game for the worse.

Some dumb mistakes did a number on them. A safety???

That was a big time missed blocking assignment. That safety changed the game complexion because it forced Pittsburgh to score a TD instead of a field goal to tie and send into OT. That next to last play, Spaeth and another receiver were crossing in the back of the end zone and Spaeth dove for the ball and missed it. The other receiver would have caught it in stride. I miss Miller.
