Only thing I heard was last year, there was a post on another forum saying the ones with the tops were really hard to handle in any kind of wind. I also know that Roketa was selling them at one time, but quit selling them.

Thanks, Jim. I had seen the same report in a couple of forums. AutoMoto is an American Co. that was established in 2008 and is selling under the AutoMoto brand. From what I read they are sold in other parts of isia and Europe. Trikes are used a lot for freight/taxi use in those countries. I would think that the original unit with a top would have problems in windy situations. However the Sport unit doesnt have a top, just introduced this month in America and is being priced at $3800.00. Should prove interesting. Iwoul prefer a 250cc engine instead of the GY6. The mfgr claims it can handle a 380 lb load. any one else have any info to shgare ?

I think there is a dealer in Atlanta. I would want to know a lot more about the Sport and The AutoMoto so far as reliability is concerned before I would commit to one. I do like the Sport concept.

From reading posts and people that bought them they only do about 45mph, also some turned around and put them up for sale right away?? The rear Axle is also very narrow just a little over two feet wide. Lefty

Thanks, Lefty. The speed would be a factor for sure. My IB Ruckus type never got over 45 and it would shake you to pieces then until I balanced the wheels. The rear axle appears narrow in the pix too. I am not considering one but with being snow bound I have been doing scooter research on the web for entertsainment. Also they push the engine as being a Honda GY6 and that is misleading. I believe that Hoda designed the original gy6 but no longer has the patent on them. After my encounter with the IB 150 bad tranny I am sort of burned out on Chinese scoots. We are going to tear her down this summer and follow David Sr.s suggestion about the bearings. Once fixed she will go on the market. My mechanic owns an IB with the same problem so he will do the wrenching, I will be the helper. For trikes I think your Burgy conversion is the way to go. IB is good if you are good at wrenching which I am not! No offense meant, Jim. Just my IB experience all way round left me feeling negative aboutthe company in general.

Did find some videos of the AutoMoto being ridden at FT in tight turns and the rear wheels did not lift off the ground. The MP3 can do the same and the front wheels stay grounded. The AutoMoto was being leaned radically. We have a dealer in the area, might go over for a test ride when it warms up (a lot). Not buying, just interested.

IB is good if you are good at wrenching which I am not! No offense meant, Jim. Just my IB experience all way round left me feeling negative aboutthe company in general. No offense taken at all, Wolf. I went with IB a year ago because of the 300s. I learned very quickly all about the problems with the 150s and the reverse issues. In my opinion, Ice Bear has, and still does, a lot more than other companys when it comes to trying to help with that issue. Most of those machines are out of warranty now, but they still try and provide parts. There are other items on these machines that I really don't care for, one of them being the trunk they put on the 300. It is a generic trunk and doesn't help the looks of the machine at all and does have a rattle issue. All and all I think they make a very decent product, esp. when you consider the cost. In my opinion, the 150 with reverse was a bad design. They should have redesigned it like the 300 and put reverse in the differential instead of the tranny. Instead they elected to remove it all together. I was told by my rep, that the designers felt that reverse wasn't needed in the 150 because it was light enough to push back wards. That is fine in most cases, but what about those that want or need that capability, because of a handicap? I guess they are stuck buying a 300 for that option. I personally like the 300 above the 150, but not everyone can afford to spend the extra money. Jim/Owner Rapid Repair

I understand and agree to a point. I personally wont buy another but my dealer looked at some when he was in FL and the dealer there said he was having no problems with the 011 300s. I think that you make a good point in that they abandoned the clients that needed a reverse and wanted a 150 and took the easy way out. I think we will go with David Srs. approach and take the trannies down and see if there is a bearing missing. Another idea would be to put in a go cart rear end. I will sell mine once it is repaired and stick to the 2 wheelers. Probably willl pick up a new TGB/Peirspeed R9i sports model for the coming summer riding. For any one else reading this I can highly reccomend Jim having done parts business with him. Jim, has IB ever come out with a true service manual?
