PS when are we gonna see a gallery of pics from your cycle armada, that would be nice.
OK, here’s the fleet, except for the CR-60 Honda mini-crosser. I don’t have a picture of that. The Mopeds The Lance The Bashan The Kawasaki and yours Truly The Rebel and the Chief Now before anybody jumps to the conclusion that I’m rolling in dough, forget it. All these things were shrewdly purchased at bargain prices and because of my age insurance is cheap. Altogether they cost less than the price of a used Korean economy car. I hope you enjoyed the show.

They're actually 50cc Honda Cub types built by Bashan. They have centrifugal clutches and four speed foot shift and are a hoot to ride. They belong to my step-sons but I've ridden them both into Town for errands. After using them I'd love to get my hands on a 110cc Scout or 125cc Hi Bird. I'll bet they'd be good 55 mph machines.

I still have a shed in the yard that I could rearrange some things in and with a little reorganizing the garage (2 bays) might hold some more. Really, though I've reached critical mass on how many I can actually ride. Sometimes I have to spend a few minutes with my helmet in my hand in front of the garage deciding what I'm going to take. Bike, scooter, Ruckus, Cub clone.......It's enough to make you toss the helmet in the grass and take the minivan.

how do those first bikes cool with out a shroudThe same way the Kawasaki does. When they move, air passes over the engine and cools the fins on the head and cylinder. Even standing still the fact that they hang in the air lets them cool. Not being wrapped in plastic is a decided advantage. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it before-well, except maybe on this bike from a few years ago. p1.bikepics.com/pics/2010%5C01%5C06%5Cbikepics-1870800-full.jpgAs for my wife, she's great. She's way smarter than I am, a school teacher with degrees that fill a wall, and handles the affairs of state so I can dabble in repairs and maintenance. She rides that Rebel like it has an engine twice the size too.

Wait! I found a web photo of a CR-60. It's much cleaner than mine, but it will do. The seat's about twenty six inches tall and it's what my wife learned to ride a bike on. It was quite a sight at the time to see this school teacher come clomping out of the house in a leather jacket, boots and a full face helmet. Then she'd twist on the petcock, pull up the choke and kick start the thing. Once it was warm she'd push off the choke and disappear in a cloud of blue smoke and noise from the unmuffled expansion chamber. She was hooked and a Rebel owner two weeks later.

I'm more interested in the log house. Let's see the interior!

It's wood too, not log, but no drywall.
