Yeah most bikes have the plate link cam chains (not sure if thats the name of them either but thats what they look like) They rarely break. Usually they stretch until it slips a tooth on the cam sprocket but theres usually lots of chain rattle before that happens. Actually the only noise I hear other than the nice exhaust note are the reeds in the emmissions system. I plan to keep it intact but the sound is annoying sometimes. The only mods are basically just tuning adjustments. I moved the clip one notch (4th) and turned the idle mix to 2 3/4. She runs like a champ. The only other things I plan to do is add a ram mount for my GPS and a 16t front sprocket to upgear it just a tad (6-7%) and both are ordered and on the way.

Cookees- why won't these bikes pass Penn Dot? They have mirrors, tail lights, turn signals, etc. So why won't Penn Dot approve them for street use?

Where are the 450s and 500 standards or cruisers?
Kymco, SYM and CF Moto should rush in and fill in the void.
Hey Cookees weren't you going to sell the CCW Heist? What happened with that? I see on their dealer locator they have dealers in PA so the bikes must pass muster with Penn DOT. Heck, according to the article in Cycle World they're even CARB approved.
Check out Qlinks new 250cc Adventurer. www.qlinkmotor.com/As for the Heist... still wondering. Their sales manger emailed me they have a buyer in Western PA . We're still trying to decide.

Yeah I've checked thier bikes out. The good thing is they are actually a 250 (249) instead of a 233/234cc motor. I like the way both of them look (Adventure and Touring) The main downfall to the Adventure is the 4 speed trans and the 400lb weight with the low hp engine. I doubt you will be able to keep up with traffic on a 55mph road. If its geared high enough to get it to 55mph then its going to be geared to high for lower speed manuvers like trying to take off from a green light. The touring bike is a bit lighter and has a 5 speed. You could probably take it on any roads but a highway/freeway except for maybe a short on/off run to go a exit or two. Of course the main issue with either is the price. The TU250,Rebel, Vstar250, CBR250, Ninja250 are all MSRP around 4k and you can pick up a good used one for about half that. So a MSRP of 3399.00 for a china bike just isnt going to happen any time soon.
Now if you can get me a great deal on the Touring like you did on the xf200 feel free to send me a PM or email ;D

As far as china choppers go it is one of the better lookin ones though. It has a full rear fender and the side panels are a bit smaller than the ones I seen a couple years ago. Better color choices too. EDIT: I just noticed it has a slide carb, which is a good thing since it has a pod filter. Looks like they are getting smarter with thier builds.

I forgot about that one. One of my fav lil standards. I could see buying one of those, putting a shield and some bags on it and see just how far I can go on it.

What kind of bike might you be riding next? 1400 Concours? Nah, already did the big bike thing. Not for me. I'm goin back to a mid size bike. Its a 2003 buell blast. I been looking for the right deal on a blast or a nighthawk 650 and this one fell into my lap.
