Probably most important for those who have to leave scoots outside a locked garage but what do you use? Right now locks and chains although if I pick up a more expensive scoot I will be installing a tracker as a minimum. Bike and scoot theft is rampant here, just checking craigslist and seeing the number advertised 'without papers' is crazy, some may have valid reasons but when I called when I was looking there were plenty of I'll meet you at the supermarket parking lot, bring cash, no papers type sellers which I obviously avoided! Does anyone use lojack or similar? anything inventive ?

i bought a masterlock U shaped bike lock. the only problem i have with it is not being wide enough to keep from scratching the paint off my wheels (someone was a crapty painter!) im having them powdercoated hopefully that will handle the abuse better. i have two kill switches, and i also bought THIS from china. apparently its on a slow boat from there because its still not here yet...
ebay item number 390221463992: disc brake lock
it locks on your disc brake, and has a built in 120 DB alarm. between all that i figure my scooter will be safe.

I found that the 2 chalk outline from the bodies of thieves that first tried to steal it along with a pix of me holding the shotgun posted on the wall as worked fine. No wiring, no electrics, no problems! Just my two barrels worth. M/C Even more effective is redoing the blood stains with a nice dark red paint.

Someone tried to drill out the ignition on my 150cc roketa in order to hot wire it I guess, and steal it. They didn't get the bike. I had to order a whole new ignition for it. Any, that is what prompted me to order a 250cc bike. I had only put 719 miles on my 150 but decided it was time to upgrade to a bigger bike. When I found my ignition drilled out, well, that just made my decision for me. I ordered a replacement ignition, and a new 250 54B. As soon as spring arrives I plan to get the new ignition installed in the 150 and keep it as a back up bike. My main cuiser will be the 250. I have a car port instead of a garage. That does not stop thieves. I use a bike chain but I am going to add a bike cover and probably put several chain locks on the new bike. That might discourage thieves. To bad the world is full of them. I would never want to steal something of someone elses. My conscience wouldn't let me sleep at night. Never could understand the mentality or thoughts of someone who steals. Don't they feel guilty or bad about what they've done?

Many have never earned anything and therefore have no concept of value or respect for hard work Sadly we support them, both officially and unofficially. Round here they just pickup the scoots.
