I bought a motorcycle lift so that I can work on my Yamaha Majesty without getting on my knees and laying down on the pavement. It cost some money and I was looking at the Harbor freight model but read a lot of negative things about them so I went with this one: Direct Lift Pro Cycle Click on image for link. I can use it for many other jobs too so it will fill it's place as another useful tool.

I get you Vader, as we get up there in years our knees and back are not what they used to be. That is a nice one, a scooter mechanic that works out of his garage has one of those. They hold the bikes really good they even have slots to tie them down. Alleyoop

It looks a lot like the one my dealer has. He got his from HarborFreight but I dont know what he paid for it. This one from Gregsmithequipment looks like a very good one. As AO says, we dont get up and down as well as we once did. I lay on the ground just to change the oil on my scoots!!! If i had room for it I would get one of these in a heart beat!!! Enjoy, Vader, and let us know how you like it.

Good choice and and a good buy there Vader. I've seen that very lift in use and it's tasty. You can get in from the sides without having to lean forward a few degrees which is tough on the old lumbars. Also, it's extremely stable and you don't feel like the bike is going to tip. When I bought my lift I went bonehead on just about every decision. I bought the type you slide under the bike:
And I paid a chunk of change for it thinking I'd get a quality lift. Well that's a Larin in the pic and unless there's some subtle upgrades I can't discern, it's the same POS I bought. It works OK for scooters if you're careful only because of their weight. But, IMO, in addition to doing a balancing act, those types push up under the bike and can crush any sensitive components. This is especially an issue with scoots since you don't know for sure what's under the plastic. Take some hard earned advice, pony up some bucks and get a nice roll on lift like Vader did. If you do want one like in the picture to save space, I wouldn't buy a Larin, that's just my opinion. Rich

I want to get one like you have Rich, regardless of the balancing act. My wife's Rebel doesn't have a centerstand so I have to walk behind it everytime I have to oil the chain. I'll need it when she wears out her rear tire for sure.

Just DON'T get a Larin, at least the one I got. OK all you Larin lovers, let's hear it. Honestly, I don't want to make an issue of this but the thing starts off lifting at an angle before it straightens out about eight inches off the floor. Then it creaks, groans, and sways if you have a motorcycle on it. I had my Vulcan on it for about two minutes and got it the hell off of there. OK, here it is, I found it, in fact, I'm pretty sure these are the boneheads I bought it from. I don't care if they see this, in my opinion everything they say on this page is CRAP! And yes, I am sorry to admit I paid that ridiculous amount. Rich

After attempting to replace the ignition in my 150 and being unable to reach under the wheel well to remove 2 hex nuts that have to be removed to get the front panel off, to get the dashboard off (yes, unbelievable that the front and dash are integrated so you have to remove the front to get the dash off) and being unable to accomplish it, I have decided I want the lift. I found it for 695 dollars (OUCH) at this site www.directlift.ca/pro-cycle.htm. Vader where did you get yours and did you find it cheaper?

mcalli, Harbor Freight has a good selection for $500.00 and under including one for $449.00 that is hydrolic/air powered. My dealer, Mountain Moped, has one and it works great. I have seen it in operation and 'hit gits er dun'!!
