That battery is for an electric powered scooter. The terminals are not the same type and location as the original type on your scoot. You also have to take the physical dimensions of the battery to make sure the new battery will fit.

ive never heard of a new battery that didnt already come with acid lol I just received a dry battery today for my motorcycle. Shipping without acid is not unusual depending on safety and shipping regulations.

Cool. I've been having to kickstart it for about a month now so ya def time to try a new battery. I found one new on ebay for shipping for $32 ish. The dealership wanted $65. I just emailed the seller to see if it comes w/ directions on how to put the battery acid in as I've never done this before It says it comes charged. I'm going to drive it for awhile after I install it to charge it up more. What happens if it doesn't come charged? Do people have to buy a charger or can they just kick start it and leave it running to charge it? New batteries (wet cell or sealed) have a residual charge. It is recommended to charge them (up to 10% of the ampere hour rating) for a few hours before initial use. Using the scoot's system to charge a new battery for the first few days while using only the kick start should give acceptable results assuming the scoot's charging system is OK. If you end up having to add the acid yourself, you should let the battery sit for at least one hour before using it. Using the scoot everyday like you do should give you the longest battery life. If you get a wet cell battery, remember that the liquid level has to be checked periodically. A sealed (AGM) battery needs no maintenance.

I realised the one I was looking at wasn't for my scooter. I was lucky enough to find the same exact battery that my scooter came w/ new, on ebay gor $29.98 w/ shipping. Thanks for the info. I will only kick start it for the first few days to charge it up and wait an hour after adding acid before hooking it up and starting it. Good advice How long should I drive it for after I kick start it to charge it up for the first few days? The chargeing system must be amazing on my scooter because it starts no problem when i kick start it and stays running w/ no probs w/ the old battery. I just can't start it w/ the starter button. I'm prob going to drain this battery a lil more before I put the new on in, but its in the mail and ready for when I need it It comes w/ the liquid that I have to put in but it says it is maintenance free. I'm so used to a car that has one kind of battery that they just pop in for me at the auto parts store. LOL. This is the one that I ordered cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_rdc=1&item=370486144200&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.com%3A80%2F%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp5197.m570.l1313%26_nkw%3D370486144200%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_fvi%3D1&viewitem=

That's a good deal for a sealed maintenance free battery. Once you fill the battery and place the sealing caps on, you should never open the caps again. 50 total miles of driving should put a good charge on the battery.

After the engine is running it only uses the battery for some of the lights. The battery is only used for the Electric Starter once it starts it is running off the Stator which is producing voltage. Actually you can take the battery out and kickstart it and it will run, but that is not good because it can damage your recifier/regulator which charges your battery. Alleyoop

It's easy to put acid in a battery. I just bought a battery for $25 at a battery warehouse a mile from my house. You also have to keep in mind that the stator may not be charging the battery and the battery may be fine, but is not receiving a solid charge. Also keep in mind it takes like 6 miles of driving to get back the charge it takes to start up a car or bike so if all your trips are one or two miles, you may be continually killing the battery. If it was me, I would buy the trickle charger first and try it on the old battery first. You are eventually going to get a charger anyway and why not get it first and try keeping the old one charged. You also say you have to keep the scoot a few blocks away, does it sit outside and in the sun, because heat will kill a battery's charge.
You may also need to think about getting the valves adjusted as you are overdue in mileage which could be making it hard to start also.
To answer your original question about the carb, buy some seafoam and put it in your tank, it will clean your carb as you go without taking the carb out.
BTW, love the screen name also and I have two sisters that live in Pompano and Davie. Love the area.

thanks mthomas. there are no outlets outside i can plug the scooter into so i cant get a charger. i do need to get the valves adjusted prob since i never had it done and its at 1,800 miles now. yes it sits in the sun all day. my neighborhood is 20 blocks north to south and 10 blocks wide so i never drive more than about a mile or 2 at a time. thanks for the advice on the sea foam. thanks about the screen name. ya pompano is about an hour north of me. ive been meaning to get up that way to check out a party. i moved down from NY a lil over a year ago.

Hey SB, I live on the w. Coast about an hour from you. You can buy a replacement battery now days at walmart for under $30. I've got a 150cc and it was $32 for mine. yours should be the same if not cheaper. They're good for about 2 years if you don't let them set for over a few months without using. Sounds like as much as you ride that you should not have a problem with it keeping itself charged. Make sure your battery posts are connected good and tight and keep an extra fuse handy if your scooter has a fuse. Those china fuses are notorious for blowing and can often show no signs of being blown. You can get a spare at your local walmart or quickmart for under a $1.00.

thanks for the info. i have a little studio apartment and there are no plugs I could plug a charger into outside. I have to park a block from it too as scooters are not allowed on the grounds. I use the scooter about 1-3x a day to get around so it never really sits long Scooters are not allowed on the grounds? Is it licensed? If it is licensed, it is a motor vehicle. I would take this up with management pronto. It should be allowed to be parked with other vehicles. If not, I would pay an attorney 150.00dollars to zip off a letter to your property manager. You have the right to park, and ride any licensed vehicle. Parking a block from your residence is definitely asking for you to find your bike "permanently missing" some day soon. And by the way, you are not a chick. A chick is a small, round, light yellow bird. If you are a chick and you can ride a 150 I would like to see a pic of that. You are a women, you are intelligent and capable. You are a person. I would still recommend getting a trickle charger. you can buy one for 24 to 30 dollars in the automotive dept of walmart. Just make sure it is for a 12 volt battery and has a slow charge for it (2 amps). Then simply take your battery out of your bike. connect the positive charger terminal to your battery positive, the neg to the neg and plug in the charger. you can do this indoors. I do all the time. It is a great way to maintain your battery through out the winter. I did not leave my battery plugged into the trickle charger all winter. I connected it once a week all winter, let it charge then disconnected it. Your battery will stay in great shape that way.

Chinese Batteries suck, aka,..Wal-Mart, Autozone, batteries Plus etc. Stick with Interstate or Yuasa Batteries and you'll get more bang for the dollar over a longer period. Never judge something based on price! Fyi- All batteries come with directions how to fill and charge the battery. Always charge at only 2amps on a 12 volt battery. Otherwise you'll cook it~~not good!
