Where did you find the frame? I'm thinking of buiding a scooter from the ground up. Did you find a scrap frame or someplace that sells them? Great project by the way, can't wait to see it evolve. Rich

how novice are you? it doesnt take much to be a decent welder. a lot of your welding is like bodywork, its all about prep. make sure your metal is clean of paint, rust and whatnot and it will make welding much easier. remember never to spray anything you are about to weld with brake clean, it will create a gas that will kill you faster than poo starts to stink. as long as your welds are not porous (wee little holes) and have penetration (color changes on back side of welded metal) then welding a frame isnt hard. just have to keep things straight and use plenty of triangulation.
shoot me a sketch of what you were thinking of for a frame and i can help you design it if you want.

I used the NCY lowering brackets and then bought some rear shocks that allowed me to bring the rear down a total of just over 2". I also lowered the front 2 and a half or so. Works great, you just need to watch the bumps. You will need to fab another or mod your side stand. I ended up having to remove my center stand as well as the mounts for it (had to grind them off) because once the center stand was gone I couldn't lean into turns without the mounts hitting the ground.
