I have an 08 150cc Roketa that runs great but the throttle cable broke. I lost one end of it, so I don't know the overall length. I bought a cable from Scrappydog and tried to install it, but the cable not the housing seems an inch short. When I connect it to the carb and route it to the throttle on the handlebar, something isn't fitting right. I haven't found a similar model that has a longer cable. I will try to post some pics if that would help. I tried to search for some help on installing a cable but haven't found much.

I lost one end of it, so I don't know the overall length. if you read it, it will make more sense. is it a 150cc? i have a broken cable on my 150cc jonway that may be basically the same scoot, i could measure it for you. pics of your scoot?

Yes it is a 150cc, and my new cable matches the old ones end connectors exactly. It just seems like i am not installing the throttle handle connection correctly, the enclosure doesn't want to bolt together straight and the throttle grip is almost impossible to turn. Here's a pic of my scoot and a pic of the throttle handle in the "enclosure". I guess another question i have is do i need to oil the cable?

Here's the throttle cable I bought from Scrappydog, It's 72" overall for the housing and 76"for the actual cable length.

Does the way I have it look correct to anyone that has changed out their cable or taken off the throttle housing? I may just detach it all and take it to a local scooter shop. I've got some other stuff to buy, so maybe that will entice them to help me out.

I have a naked 150cc Bashan with everything exposed on the handlebars. I've had the whole assembly off and on more times than I can count but for the life of me can't visualize exactly how it looks. It's one of those things you don't disect unless your having trouble in that area. I'm at work right now but if you can wait I'll get some pictures of mine first thing Saturday and post them on this thread. Rich

I agree with benellibob. The cable need to run around the white plastic part also...

Well it turns out my throttle cable assembly is NOT exactly like yours even though I was sure yesterday that it was . But I took some pictures anywy, maybe it will help. The red arrow points to the phillips head screw that releases the grip housing retainer while the yellow points to the metal nub at the end of the cable. There is only one slot for the nub on mine as opposed to yours that has two.
The green dot here shows where the flat edge on the cable collar rests against the grip housing, the cable runs down from the nub:
Throttle open:
From the other side: throttle open:
Throttle closed:

Thanks for the pics Bashan. Benellibob and sprocket, that's what I thought, but I don't have enough throttle cable length to wrap it around the throttle handle. I am going to go to a shop this week and bring my old cable, new cable and my throttle handle assembly and see if I can find a throttle cable with the actual cable about an inch longer so it will wrap around the white plastic part on the handle. Once I get this fixed I will finally be able to ride my scoot, it's killing me that something this simple is all that stands in my way.

I just looked for the invoice from last year that I had to replace my cable also from the Roketa but no luck. I agree it has to wrap around the white plastic part and it sounds like yours is short. Better to be a bit long than short....as in most situations.
