Hi Guys and Gals, wondering if anyone has any thoughts on our braking components? Being on the other side of the pond I don't know what makes of components you will have on your side, but I've just bought and fitted EBC (organic type) pads and shoes, and a new disc/rotor as the old one was slightly warped. Also got a stainless steel braided hose for the front waiting to be fitted. Anyone changed/upgraded their braking system, what were the results? Mike

Probably won't make a bit of difference. Stainless hose are purely cosmetic...

A rubber hose may expand slightly due to braking pressure, or depending on the route it follows through the scoot could kink or partially collapse (which is what mine seems to have done). A braided hose will not expand so all the applied pressure will go to the piston in the caliper. Maybe stainless hose on cage engine cooling systems are purely cosmetic, but on a braking system they serve a purpose. The friction materials vary wildly, and I've read good things about EBC (and other named makes of materials) increasing brake feel and performance. Maybe people are only interested in making there scoot go, and not worried about stopping.

How much pressure do you think is on a scooter brake hose?

Enough that I could feel the hose 'pulse' where the kink was when I pulled the lever, rubber will also get softer as it warms up, 2 reasons I changed it for a braided hose
