Hey guys, My name is Jake, I recently purchased a chinese scooter off of craigslist for $300.00 (great deal, the guy was skipping town that day) It rides and runs great! The only thing is the rear disc brakes are broken. I put fluid in them but there's just no brake pressure. I tried bleeding them and made sure the nut was tight but still no luck. Am I filling it correctly buy unscrewing the top off of the plastic box by the brake lever, then just pouring fluid in? So now, I'm looking for a new rear brake assembly. The back tire has a small crack where the rotor connects too, so I would like to buy a new tire as well. Anyone have any site that would carry the brake assembly? I'm having trouble finding the exact brake assembly, as no site I can find specifically mentions my make/model (typical chinese ) Heres a link to a pic of the scooter that I actually bought. I think its the same as a Roketa 250cc. Thanks!!

First of all, welcome aboard, Make sure you go to the new members section and sign in, you already posted a pic so you are ahead of the game. Nice looking scoot and a helluva deal...nice job. Sure looks like a Roketa and I am sure one of the experts will chime in. One question though, does you lever close all the way without any brakes or does the lever not move at all? If it does not move, most likely the piston is froze up in the caliper and can be fixed. If it squeezes all the way, most likely it is leaking somewhere, do you see any leaks? Let us know and maybe we can get the original fixed so you don't have to buy a new one.

Imitebewrong, Welcome to the forum, $300.00 bananas WOW!! that is a great deal. Yes that is a very popular scoot, even my 150 Trike looks just like that has the same body panels and lights. But I have to tell you next picture you show us we expect that puppy to be SHINING and SPARKLING, it needs a little Spit shine . Alleyoop

Welcome to Scooter Doc, Jake. Congratulations on a great buy. I would guess that you don't have a leak as that would be obvious. I would first check this tutorial to make sure you are bleeding the brakes right: It sounds like a lot of air in the line. Another possibility is a bad master cylinder. If you determine that the master cylinder is bad, here is one that should fit: www.tankscooterpartswholesale.com/left-handlebar-brake-master-cylinder-universal-p-14123.htmlTaking the cover off the master cylinder is the right way to fill the brake fluid. Your scoot is the same as the YY250T which uses the 244cc CfMoto clone engine.

Wow, fast responses! I feel i came to the right place to get help and information for my new scoot! Alright, so when I fill the reservoir with fluid I can pull the lever all the way to the handle. There's just no pressure. But also I don't see any leaks! I can't figure out why it's not working. The guy I bought it from said he was riding one day and it just stopped working suddenly. Thanks so much for the info, you guys have already been a great help! Any ideas on what might be wrong with my brakes? I'll make a video soon to show you what its doing to give you a better picture. I would be relieved if its just the master cylinder!

Hello and welcome imitebewrong, That sure is a nice scoot and a good deal. I'm no expert here but have done a few brake jobs over the years. from your post sounds like the master cylinder is bad. Don't know if you can rebuild them, but probably easier to replace. Not sure. on the parts for this particular scoot, but somebody here will have the answer. This is a good bunch of people with lots of knowledge.

Hello, I am new to this site and with a new 250 scooter as well. I do remember that somewhere I saw there is a adjustment connector right near the upper brake fluid box. It mentioned that you can adjust the cable so there is some space to go before hitting the handle bars. I think they called it slack adjustment. I see no one so far has made that comment so here it is. Maybe the problem is greater than an adjustment, but adjustments are much cheaper.
Sudden failure could be a loosened of broken cable. .
