Did a full days work on the 250B today. Replaced the fuel lines along with a new fuel filter and vacuum hoses along with a new Dr Pulley Variator with 13 Gram sliders. When I opened up the variator cover it looked like a grease factory. It was so thick it was even on the belt. Had a bad shake to the back end during take off. The main reason I pulled it down today was that and the fact that I had a water leak that had to be addressed. Found the water leak at the drain screw on the pump. Hey Earthman I finally got the pics of the Engine for you. [lol] New Variator I was thinking of replacing the belt, but I am not sure what size to get. The belt was marked as a Gates Power Belt #856 - 23 and no other numbers. Shouldn't there be another number at the end?

You really tore it down to the bare bones. I wish I knew the right belt for you, but I'm not sure which gates is right. How many miles on your scoot? I see some rust settled in. Mine sits in the garage and gets the hell waxed out of it. The variator comes filled with thick black grease. Clean it all out and maybe switch to sliders.

Speedracer; Yeah there's some rust on it. I don't have a garage and this one was a previous owner. It has 3590 miles on it. I did change the variator to a Dr. Pulley with 13 gram sliders. Here in South Texas it doesn't take long for rust to settle in on unprotected parts. Lots of salt water in the air beings I am right on the Gulf Coast.
alley; I agree it does need some cleaning. I thought I had pulled all the grass and things out of it before the pics. LMAO
